Spanish Fork's Strongest Man/Woman

First event will commence at 9 am sharp. Rules meeting will be at 8:30 am. Athletes may come as early as 7:30 to warm up.
Event Rules
For All Events:
- Competition shirts or grip shirts must be worn at all times.
- No bare feet. Must have at least socks on.
- No tacky or sticky substance for any event.
- No gloves allowed.
- No buildup belts allowed (only one hard or one soft belt).
- No suits or briefs allowed.
- Any athlete who leaks any bodily fluids (blood, urine, etc.) on the competition field must help clean it up.
1. Log Clean and Press
Equipment Allowed: Chalk, Wrist Wraps, Elbow Sleeves, Knee Sleeves, Warmer Shorts, One Soft Belt, One Hard Belt, Competition Grip Shirt, Straps
Time Limit: 60 seconds
Scoring: Max Reps
Athletes will be given 60 seconds to get clean and press the log for as many reps as possible. Log must be fully locked out at the top and athletes must wait for a down command before being brought back down. Athletes may viper press, split jerk, push jerk, or push press the weight. Athlete will start behind the implement, hands NOT on implement and given an Athlete ready, GO, command to start. Down command will be given at full lockout, if skipped the rep will NOT count. If repeated down commands are skipped, one rep will be taken away for each skipped down command.
Dropping weight from overhead/chest level is NOT PERMITTED. Log must be brought down under control. Deliberately dropping the log from overhead, will result in a ZERO for the event. Please respect the equipment.
Men will use a standard 12-inch log and women will use a 10-inch log.
Good Lift: having the implement locked out, under control overhead with arms straight, head through, legs and feet parallel and stationary.
2. Yoke and Farmers Walk
Equipment Allowed: Chalk, Wrist Wraps, Elbow Sleeves, Knee Sleeves, Knee Wraps, Warmer Shorts, One Soft Belt, One Hard Belt, Competition Grip Shirt
Time Limit: 60 seconds
Distance: 50 feet down, 50 feet back
Scoring: Distance + Time
Athletes will get set in the yoke. On the start command of the judge, the athlete will pick up the yoke and carry it 50 feet down. Once the tip of the yoke crosses the line, the athlete will drop the yoke, turn around, pick the farmers and carry it 50 feet back. If the athlete does not finish the total run in 60 seconds, a distance will be taken. Athletes have unlimited drops. A slide penalty of 5 seconds will be given to anyone who slides the yoke.
3. Max Deadlift
Equipment Allowed: Chalk, Wrist Wraps, Elbow Sleeves, Knee Sleeves, Warmer Shorts, One Soft Belt, One Hard Belt, Competition Grip Shirt, Straps
Time Limit: 60 seconds
Scoring: Max Weight
Attempts: 2
Athletes will start standing behind the barbell. On the start command of the judge, the athlete will strap into the barbell (if using straps) and begin pulling. Judges will be giving a Down command. Judges are looking for shoulders back, hips through, and knees locked. If the bar is dropped before the down command, no rep will be given. No finger-tipping the bar while using straps. Deliberately dropping the barbell from the top will result in a ZERO for the event. Please respect the equipment.
Each Athlete will get 2 attempts. Athletes must declare their first attempt weight at contest Check-in. Weight jumps are set at 20lb increments. Each weight jump will be called out, and athletes will either make an attempt or pass on the weight. Starting weights are listed below.
4. Sandbag Carry
Equipment Allowed: Chalk, Wrist Wraps, Elbow Sleeves, Knee Sleeves, Warmer Shorts, One Soft Belt, One Hard Belt, Competition Grip Shirt. NO TACKY OR TACKY SPRAY.
Time Limit: 60 seconds
Distance: Max distance
Scoring: Distance + Time
Athletes will stand behind the Sandbag. On the start command of the judge, the athlete will pick up the sandbag and begin their max distance carry. The lane is 50 feet long, and once crossing the line, the athlete will turn around and carry it 50 feet back. This will continue until either the 60 second time limit is reached or the athlete drops the sandbag. Once the athlete drops the bag, their run will be over and a distance will be taken. You can stop and rest on your legs but once any part of the sandbag touches the ground, you are done. No Shouldering the bag.
