EVENTS AND RULES

Max Deadlift

This event will follow Wessels Rule and be done on a Texas Deadlift Bar. Athletes can jump in at any point, you get 3 attempts, if a rep is failed - you are out. The bar weight will increase in 50lb jumps for Men, and 30lb jumps for Women.

Rules: Athlete is allowed to start strapped in to the bar. On the judges command, the athlete will have 45 seconds to complete a single (1) rep. Athlete will be a given a Down Command by the Head Judge after a successful lockout. The Head Judge is looking for shoulders back, hips through, and knees extended with control of the bar at the top position. Hitching IS ALLOWED and the athlete must maintain contact with the bar on the way down in a controlled manner. If the bar is dropped from the top position prior to the Down Command or in an uncontrolled manner this may result in a No Rep to the Head Judges discretion. Please respect the equipment and the Head Judge.

Equipment Allowed: Chalk, Wrist Wraps, Wrist Straps, Figure 8 Straps, Belts, Elbow Sleeves, Knee Sleeves, Shin Sleeves, Shoes/Barefoot, Deadlift Suits, Deadlift Briefs, and Baby Powder.

Equipment Not Allowed: NO SUMO, No Hook Straps

Scoring: Max Weight Wins

Axle Clean & Press Away

Rules: Athlete has 60 seconds to Clean and Press Away an Axle for as many reps as possible. Only one (1) clean is required, but if more are needed - the athlete can do so. Athlete will start 3ft behind the Axle and on the Head Judges command will quickly approach the Axle, Clean, and begin to press away for maximal reps. The bar does not need to return to the floor between reps, just return to the shoulders. At the top of each rep, athlete must wait for the Head Judges down command. If athlete does not wait for the down command, the rep will not count. For a Good Rep - the Head Judge is looking for Knees, Hips, and Arms extended with the bar controlled overhead. Tree topping the bar will result in a No Rep and after warning may result in a Zero for the event - to the judges Discretion. Unlimited Drops are allowed. Any type of lower body assistance is allowed (Jerk, Split Jerk, Strict Press).

Equipment Allowed: Chalk, Wrist Wraps, Elbow Sleeves, Knee Sleeves, Hard or Soft Belts, Weightlifting Shoes, Grip Shirts

Equipment Not Allowed: No Built Up Belts (Hard Belt on Top of a Soft Belt), Suits/Briefs

Scoring: Most Reps in a Minute Wins

Farmers Carry into Sandbag Carry for Distance

Rules: Athlete has 2 Minutes to carry a set of Farmers Handles down the 50' course and then a Sandbag for Max Distance over a 50' course. The athletes must make an honest and quick attempt to start on the Sandbag after completing Farmers Carry. The Sandbag must be carried in the Front "Bearhug" position, no shouldering the Sandbag. Athletes may pause and lap the Sandbag to readjust grip, but once the Sandbag hits the floor, your attempt ends. Sandbag may not be thrown forward for extra distance, if it does, Judges will mark from the foot spot of the drop, not the spot of the bag.

Example: Farmers Carry takes 20 seconds, athlete will have the remaining 1:40 to pick, and carry the Sandbag for Max Distance on the 50' course. When the athlete drops the Sandbag - time stops and your attempt is over.

Equipment Allowed: Chalk, Elbow Sleeves, Knee Sleeves, Belts (Hard/Soft), Wrist Wraps

Equipment Not Allowed: Grip Shirts, Wrist Straps, Figure 8 Straps

Scoring: Once the Farmers Carry is complete in the allotted time (a time split interval will be recorded) scoring will be determined by furthest Sandbag carry distance. If an athlete cannot complete the Farmers Carry in the time, distance from that will be measured and used as time. Athletes will NOT get a chance to carry the Sandbag if they cannot complete the Farmers Carry. This will be reflected in scoring.

Vehicle Pull

Rules: Athletes will be strapped into a harness attached to the front bumper of the respective vehicle. Before starting the athlete will get help from the Head Judge and crew to take the slack out of the rope. On Head Judge's command the clock will start and the athlete will pull the vehicle as fast as possible across a 60' course. If Athletes cannot finish the course, they will be scored on Distance.

Equipment Allowed: Chalk, Gloves, Belts, Elbow Sleeves, Knee Sleeves, Grip Shoes (Wrestling, Hiking, Rock Climbing)

Scoring: Fastest time Wins, or Furthest Distance

MYSTERY EVENT - Yoke Carry!

Competitors will pick the Yoke and carry it DOWN AND BACK A 60' course (120' total). Competitors are allowed as many drops as needed, but no intentional sliding!

At the turn, the Front feet of the Yoke must cross the line as the Head Judge will call "Turn!". For time to stop, the entire Yoke must cross the finish line!
