The Raiders are rounding into form as they approach the postseason on a seven-game win streak. After its 13-10 upset loss to Archbishop McCarthy, the Patriots plummeted in the MaxPreps national rankings from No. 39 to 155th. American Heritage won last year’s game against the Raiders, 42-38, snapping a three-game skid in the series dating back to 2014. St. Thomas Aquinas 35, American Heritage 28.

On Friday, Oct. 24 (beginning at 7 p.m. ET), American Heritage High School - Plantation will meet St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Plantation, FL.

How to watch Aquinas vs. Amer. Heritage high school football

Two dominant signal callers in Mason Mallory and Leon Strawder are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders will head out on the road to challenge the American Heritage Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Thomas Aquinas knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully American Heritage likes a good challenge.

On Friday, St. Thomas Aquinas beat Monarch 31-20. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Mallory and Florentino Lopez. Mallory had a great game and rushed for 86 yards and two scores on only nine carries. Meanwhile, Lopez was balling out in the loss, throwing for 297 yards and a pair of TDs, while also punching in one touchdown on the ground.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to St. Thomas Aquinas' defense and their four sacks. Monarch's QB won't forget Daniel Norman anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Norman is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as he's now posted at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Phillip Goodrich Jr was another major factor on D, making 16 total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, after soaring to 42 points the game before, American Heritage was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They fell just short of Archbishop McCarthy by a score of 13-10. The matchup marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

American Heritage's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-4. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.

St. Thomas Aquinas came up short against American Heritage in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 42-38. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
