EVENTS!!!!!!

LOG OF THE LIVING DEAD (MAX LOG LIFT) TIEBREAKER

This is a max lift event.  Each competitor will have 3 total attempts at this lift.  Openers must be announced and given to the scorekeeper/head judge before the event starts.

  1. Competitor will have 60 seconds to complete the lift.  The lift may be attempted as many times as possible within the 60 seconds given.
  2. LOG MUST BE CONTROLLED DOWN TO THE GROUND.  TREE TOPPING WILL RESULT IN A NO REP.
  3. Lift is considered complete whenever the log is overhead, under control, feet are parallel, elbows locked out, and head is through.  IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE A DOWN CALL THE REP IS NOT COMPLETE.
  4. Opening lift is nominated by the lifter at check-in.  Each time a lift is completed the competitor must inform scorekeeper what their next lift will be.
  5. Competitor cannot drop nominated weight after a failed attempt.
  6. There is no set weight jump on log.  However, competitors must be mindful that small jumps in weight may result in them lifting back to back, with reduced time limits in order to keep the competition moving.
  7. Push press, strict press, jerk, split jerk, push jerk all allowed.  Do not rest log on belt or head during lift.

Allowable Gear

Wrist wraps, hard belt (buckle must be to rear), soft belt, sleeves (one item per joint, no double sleeves), chalk, grip shirt allowed (NO USS).

NO TACKY OF ANY KIND, NO STACKED BELTS, NO STRAPS OR SUITS.

DEADLIFT OF THE DAMNED (MAX ELEVATED DEADLIFT)

This is a max lift event.  Each competitor will have 3 total attempts at this lift.  Openers must be announced and given to the scorekeeper/head judge before the event starts.

Lift will be performed with an Arsenal Athletics knurled axle bar and wagon wheels.

Rules:

  1. Conventional stance is mandatory here, no sumo pulling is allowed.  Hands must remain outside of knees at all times during the lift.
  2. Competitor is given 60 seconds to complete the lift.  Lift may be attempted as many times as possible within the 60 second timeframe.
  3. Deadlift suits are ALLOWED.
  4. Weight must be controlled to the ground, please do not slam our equipment.  Reasonable accommodation will be given to heavier lifts.
  5. Lift is complete one the judge gives the 'DOWN' command.  To receive the down call the lifter must be standing upright, knees locked, hips under the shoulders and looking ahead at the judge.
  6. Competitor must nominate their next lift immediately after completing their lift with the applicable scorekeeper.

TOMBSTONE CARRY

This will be performed similar to a husafel carry, however we are getting custom Tombstones made by Stix and Stone that competitors will have to pick up from the floor just like a husafel, and carry for distance within the 60 second mark.  Tombstones are concrete.

Rules:

  1. Competitors will start behind the tombstone as directed by the judge.
  2. On the command to go competitor will lift the stone and front carry it as far as possible within the timeframe.  The course length is 30 feet, so competitor will need to turn around at the other end by placing ONE FOOT on the other side of the line and turning to go back.
  3. Distance will be measured at the end one the stone is placed on the ground.
  4. DO NOT DROP THE STONE.  There will be spotters following the contestants as they walk, once the competitor has completed their run the spotters will place a crash pad below them for the stone.  Reasonable accommodations will be given to those who fail during the run (i.e. fall down, pass out, etc.).  OTHERWISE IF YOU DROP THE STONE YOU WILL ZERO THE EVENT.
  5. Once the stone has touched the ground the event is over, no repicking allowed FROM THE GROUND.  Competitors will have the 'PICK ZONE' at the beginning of the course where they can attempt to repick the first time, once you have passed the first line no repicks allowed.
  6. At no time is the tombstone allowed to rest on the contestants belt.  Judge will give one warning, afterwards the contestant will be required to stop the event.

ALLOWABLE GEAR:

Wrist wraps, gauntlets, tape on forearms, soft belt, HARDBELT MUST HAVE BUCKLE TO THE REAR.  Grip shirts are allowed (no USS).

ABSOLUTELY NO TACKY, OR STICKY SUBSTANCE OF ANY KIND.

CRUCIFIX CHAIN HOLD

***EVENT CHANGE***
We are unable to safely perform the guillotine hold without some welding modifications, even then, it would be shaky and dangerous.  So we have changed this event to the Crucifix Chain Hold.

Competitor will start with heels together, arms out by sides at 90 degrees. Helpers will hand the chain to each hand of the competitor, once the judge verifies that the competitor has ahold of the chains, the helpers will recuse themselves and the event time will begin.

  1. Competitor will start standing facing the judge with heels together and hands straight out to their sides.
  2. On verification of 'Ready" from the judge the time will begin.
  3. Competitor must remain standing upright during the entire lift or the time will stop, if competitor bends at the waist, leans over, or lowers the arms past 90 degrees, the time will stop.
  4. Competitors are allowed equipment, but if at any time it seems to the judge that they are resting the implement on a belt or sleeve, time will be stopped.

ALLOWABLE GEAR:

Knee sleeves, hard and/or soft belt, chalk, liquid chalk.

NO:

Wrist wraps, Tacky, sticky substance of any kind, spray tacky, straps, or wraps.

FRANKENSTEIN's WALK

This will be a heavy yoke carry for short distance that will go into a 2 item loading medley.  Event will be for time, competitors will have 75 seconds to complete event.

Competitor will pick and carry yoke 30 feet, run back to starting line, gather either of 2 sandbags in any order, carry each down and load them over the yoke.

The yoke height that the competitor selects will be the yoke height they must load their sandbags to.  We are minimizing height advantage here, but there is strategy as well!

  1. Competitor will start underneath the yoke in a brace position to begin.
  2. On the order to begin, competitor will lift the yoke and carry it 30 feet to the end of the course.
  3. Competitor will then return to beginning of the course, gather each sandbag and load them over the crossmember.
  4. Timer will stop whenever the last bag hits the ground.

ALLOWABLE GEAR:

Wrist wraps, elbow and knee sleeves, hard and/or soft belt, chalk.

NO:

Tacky, sticky substance of any kind, wraps.

THE PROMOTER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO ALTER/CANCEL ANY EVENT DUE TO TIME, WEATHER, OR EQUIPMENT MALFUNCTION AT ANY TIME.
