Sandbag Toss to Max Height (Last Man/Woman Standing Style)
- ALL Men ALL Weight Classes: 40 lb. bag
- ALL Women ALL Weight Classes: 20 lb. bag
- 30-Second Attempts
- For each of your attempts, you have 30 seconds to clear the bar
- Within these 30 seconds, you may make as many tosses as needed to clear the bar.
- Total Attempts Allowed
- You have a maximum of three attempts for the entire competition, not per height.
- You cannot continue in the competition once you have used all three attempts.
- Advancing Heights
- If you successfully clear the bar within your attempt, you may proceed to your next chosen height.
- You have the freedom to choose which heights you want to attempt next.
- Failed Attempts and Retries
- If you do not clear the bar within your 30-second attempt, you may try again after all other competitors have had their attempts at that height, provided you have attempts remaining.
- If you need to make consecutive attempts (because no other competitors are attempting that height), you will receive a 60-second rest between your attempts.
- Remember, each failed attempt counts toward your total of three attempts.
- Strategic Height Selection
- Plan your starting and subsequent heights carefully to maximize your performance without exhausting your limited attempts.
- Example: You may choose to start at 13 feet. If you clear it, you might decide to wait until 16 feet for your next attempt, and then 18 feet.
- If you fail an attempt at any height, your next attempt must be at the same height until you either clear it or use up your attempts.
- You cannot skip to a higher height without clearing the current one.
- Risk of Elimination (DNF)
- Since you have only three total attempts, failing to clear a height within these attempts will result in a Did Not Finish (DNF).
- If you wait too long to enter the competition at a higher height and fail, you may end up with a DNF without any successful clearances.
- If you start too early and fail attempts at lower heights, you might exhaust your attempts while other competitors reach higher heights.
- Last man/woman standing.
- If more than one person maxes out at the same height, or if competitors remain when we max out our equipment's height capabilities, there will be a shootout-style tiebreaker.
- Shootout style tie-breaker:
- A coin flip will decide who chooses to go first or second.
- Best of 5: Alternating attempts to determine the best of 5 tosses at the max height.
- If Best of 5 is still a tie - Move to sudden death round
- Another coin flip will decide who chooses to go first or second for a sudden death round.
- Alternating tosses
- If the first person completes their attempt and the second person fails, the first person wins.
- If the first person misses and the second person is successful, the second person wins.
- Shootout style tie-breaker:
- NOT eligible for Florida state records.
- Required for USS Nationals qualification but optional for Static Monsters worldwide ranking.
Additional Notes:
- If you wish to attempt a state record in a category or class not listed, please email the event organizer to declare your desired class or division.
Every lifter will be included in the worldwide rankings, giving you a chance to see how you stack up against competitors around the globe. The top 10 lifters worldwide in each division qualify for the Static Monsters World Championships.
