Join us for an electrifying day of strength, resilience, and community support at the second annual Strength for School's Strongman Competition on October 19th, 2024! Held at the Stead School campus located at 18251 Homestead Trail, Commerce City, CO 80022, this event promises thrilling displays of athleticism while raising funds for the Stead School Athletics program. With the goal of raising $6,000 for the Stead School Athletics program, every lift, pull, and press brings us closer to our target. All proceeds will be directly funneled into enhancing the athletic opportunities for our students.

The competition kicks off at 10:00 am, preceded by a crucial rules meeting at 9:00 am. Weigh-ins  (for those in open weights) will be available both at the Stead School on October 19th from 8:00 am to 9:00 am and at Nick's Performance located at 1338 S Valentia St, Denver, CO 80247 on October 18th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

This event is for the Community! Join us for a day of thrilling competition, community camaraderie, and a shared commitment to empowering our student-athletes. In addition to watching these athletes compete, we will have games and enternaiment for kids, a free lunch sponsored by Reunion Church, and typical carnival treats  all free for the community! so invite your friends and family! If you feel moved to donate, you can give any amount at the school.

This event isn't just for seasoned strongman competitors; it's open to everyone, including high-school athletes looking to test their mettle and new lifters looking to try something new! We will have coaches, experienced judges, and even Physical Therapist to ensure not only your safty, but that you also have fun! 

The excitement doesn't end there! The top 3 winners in each weight class will earn the prestigious qualification for USS Nationals 2025, offering a pathway to further greatness in the world of strongman competitions.

Our events:

Silver Dollar Deadlift: Test your limits with three attempts to hit your max, jumping in as the weights ascend. This will be done on a stiff bar at 18' off the ground. 
 Women's weights increase by 20 lbs, while men's increase by 50 lbs. Suits, straps, and figure 8's are all permitted. This will be done on a stiff bar. 

Log Press Ladder: Race against the clock as you clean and press three logs of increasing weight. With a 60-second time limit, every second counts. Chalk and grip shirts are allowed to help you achieve your best performance. 
 

**MEN:All logs will be 12' diamater, but the length will change.  Your first log will be your standard log. the next two will be our long logs "Big Blue" and "The Judge". These logs are 10 ft long.

**WOMEN: First two logs will be 10'' in diameter, final log will be 12''.

Rising Bar Lever Squat: Feel the burn as you squat each weight for time, with additional weight added after each consecutive successful lift. A 60-second time limit keeps the adrenaline pumping. 

You will start in the negative position (parallel squat) at the judges call you will squat up and wait for the good call from the judge: Legs straight, chest up, stable. You will then bring the weight back down and more weight will be added quickly- the judge will give the call and you will squat up again. You will go until you cannot perform the squat. (8 at the most). MEN  Chalk and grip shirts provide the necessary support.

**All Women Weight classes will go up by 45lbs pre rep, all mens weight classes will go up in weight by 90 lbs per rep. This event is more like the weight bearing of a leg press.

Mike's Mobile Big Boi Truck Pull : Our Head Sponsor's event from Mikes Mobile! Channel your inner powerhouse as you try to pull one of Big Mikes Trucks ranging from 15,000-34,000lbs!  Using a harness (Strength Shop or SPUDS)  and rope for 30 feet in record time. With a 60-second time limit, it's all about sheer strength and determination. Chalk only, no tacky or straps allowed.

God of Stones: Conquer the challenge of lifting stones over a bar as fast as possible, starting with the lightest stone and progressing upwards. 

With a 90-second time limit, it's a test of endurance and speed. Tacky, chalk, and sleeves are all fair game. The bar will be set at 48".
