Top 3 in each open class will qualify for 2023 nationals, as well as the winner of each novice division.

The winner of each open class will win $200 prize money. MUST have 3 competitors in division.

Weigh ins will be by appointment on September 30. And from 7-9 the day of the event.

EVENTS:

Log Press: Athlete will have 60 seconds to clean and press away for as many reps as possible. Log can be set down between reps but does not need to be

Deadlift: Athlete will have a bar set on top of 3 two inch blocks, at lock out 1 block will be pulled out until the bar is on the ground. Athlete will then rep out the weight from the ground. heights will be 15" 13" 11" 9". 60second time limit. straps and deadlift suits ARE allowed.

Keg/Sandbag Throw: athlete will have 60 seconds to throw 4 kegs/sandbags over a bar. Split times will be taken when the implement lands on the ground. All men will use the same weight implements and all women will use the same weight implements but heights will be adjusted for each class. Weights will be finalized once they have been tested.

Sandbag Carry and Load: Athlete will carry and load 2 sandbags 50 feet and load over a yoke. Men will load to 52" Women will load to 45". 60 second time limit. If not completed a distance will be given.

Atlas Stones: Athlete will have one stone to complete as many reps as possible over a yoke cross bar. Men will load to 52" Women will load to 45". 60 second time limit. Tacky is allowed in the designated tacky area. If seen applying tacky outside of that area, athlete will receive a zero for the event.

A block of rooms have been reserved at the Residence Inn in Ankeny. The Hotel is 50 ft from the event location. I would HIGHLY recommend it. Use group name "strength games at the district" for a discount.
