Strongman Corp. membership is REQUIRED of all competitors.  (*Purchase/Renew PRIOR to the weigh-ins at StrongmanCorporation.com)

Refunds: There are NO refunds or entry transfers. 

There is a cap of 75 athletes for this event.  We have reached our cap early the past 3 years and have had  to use a waiting list.   REGISTER ASAP!

Venue Notes:

-Spectator fee is $5. Kids under 12 are free. -Parking in the lot is limited. Athletes will be able to park in the lot until its full and then spectators must park along the field above the gym at the corner of Nees Ave. and Walters Ave.  -Tentatively, 1-2 of the events will be outside, with the rest inside the gym. -The athlete area will be outside, with a warmup area in the back room of the gym. -We recommend bringing an ez-up tent and chairs to set yourself up a spot on the hill to hangout between events. -We will be selling food and refreshments throughout the day.

-Classes may be combined if needed at promoter's discretion.

-Events/Rules/Weights are subject to change.

Contest Shirt must be worn for all events except stones.

 

EVENTS:

-Circus Dumbbell Press  (Max Weight, 3 Attempts, Wessles Rules):

Rules: 30 second per attempt.  *Wessels Rules (You only get 3 attempts, miss and you're done, jump in at any weight, skip any jump). The Dumbbell will be cleaned from the floor and may only be dropped onto the crash mats.  You must show control of the dumbbell motionless at lockout with feet parallel, torso upright, and legs & arm locked out to receive a "down" command from the judge. The athlete must control the dumbbell to the mats  after each attempt.  Intentional dropping of the dumbbell may result in disqualification.  Any anatomical limitations preventing a lockout as described above must be demonstrated to the judges Prior to the start of the event.  All Women's Classes will be using a 10"  Dumbbell.  Their lowest opening weight being 60lbs with 10lb jumps.  Teen Men and Novice Men will be using a 12"  Dumbbell.  Their lowest opening weight being 90lbs with 20lb jumps.   Open And Master's Men Will Be Using a 12" Dumbbell.  Their lowest opening weight being 125lbs with 20lb jumps.   Equipment Allowed: Belts, elbow/knee sleeves, and wrist wraps.  No: grip shirts, straps, built up belts, tacky/tack cloth/spray tack etc.   

-Ascending Axle Deadlift  (Max Reps, starting weights are listed):   

Rules:  60 Seconds to complete as many reps as possible. Weight will increase after each completed rep.  Axle will be at standard bar height.  Event setup for All Open Men, All Masters Men and Novice Men 231+ :  You will be standing on blocks using an axle that will be on 26" wagon wheels.  This puts the axle bar at a standard 9" height for the pull.  Jumps for this group will be 50 & 60lbs (calibrated 25's & 55's).   Event Setup for Novice Men <231>, All Teen Men, and All Women's Classes: You will be using an axle with standard Olympic plates.  Jumps for this group will be 50lbs (standard 25's).    You will receive up and down commands.  You will get your up command once the next weight is loaded.  You will get your down command once the weight is lifted, motionless, with your knees and hips locked out, and shoulders back.  You must control the weight back to the ground (bar cannot leave hands).  Dropping off the bar from the hands will result in No-Rep.  Lowering the weight before your down command will result in a No-Rep.  The bar must remain in contact with the hands during the lift and lockout (It may not hang from the straps with open hands). No Sumo.  Conventional stance and hand position only.  YOU are responsible for the cleanup of any bodily fluids you leave behind on the platform or equipment. *A Shin Covering Is Required;  Knee High Socks/Shin Sleeves/or Knee Sleeves covering the shins are acceptable. Equipment Allowed: Belts, Deadlift Suits, Briefs, Elbow/Knee Sleeves, Wrist Wraps, Wrist Straps (traditional or figure 8's only, NO versa grips/hooks etc.) baby powder on legs is ok,. No: knee wraps, gloves, tacky, tacky towels, spray tack, oil/water/other foreign substances on legs.

-Yoke Run to Sandbag Carry + Load (For Time):   

Rules:  40' Yoke Run, Run Back to Start, Pickup and Carry Sandbag & Load Over Yoke   * The yoke height you load over will be the height you chose to carry it at.  60 Second Time Limit.  If you run out of time, a distance will be given for the sandbag carry (*You must complete the yoke run and carry the bag past its starting line to receive a distance).  If you do not complete the yoke portion of the event your score will be 0.  You will start with your hands on the yoke (not under) and wait for the judge's command: "Athlete Ready,  Go" and then setup on your own time. Unlimited drops.  Both Front skis of the yoke must cross the line. The sandbag will start upright, beside where the yoke started.  The bag may be front carried or shouldered.  You may not hold onto the yoke while loading the sandbag.  Equipment Allowed: Belts, Elbow/Knee Sleeves, Wrist Wraps, Gloves, Knee Wraps.  No: grip shirts, squat/dl suits, tacky, tacky towels, spray tack.

-Conan's Wheel (Max Distance):

Rules:   The athlete will carry as far as possible, clockwise, until the base of the unit touches the ground.  The Athlete has 30 seconds to lift and carry the arm of the wheel past the 3ft grace area to receive a measurement (failure to carry the implement over the line will result in a score of 0.)   The arm of the wheel must be front carried in the crooks of the elbows & on the top of the belly/in front of the chest.  The arm of the wheel may not be supported by your belt.  Belts may not be built up.  No grip shirts, tacky, tack cloth, spray tack, etc, no suits.  Belts, elbow & knee sleeves, knee wraps, & wrist wraps are OK.  

-Atlas Stone Load (Max, Last Man Standing):

Rules: Women Load to 44" Yoke,  Men Load to 48" Platform.    30 seconds per attempt. Jump in at any weight. Skip any weight. Miss and you are done. Athlete begins with hands on platform/yoke & waits for judge's signal to start. You may not hold on to the platform or bar during the lift. Tacky is allowed IF you are able to keep it only on yourself and the stones. Belts/Sleeves Ok.  Belt may not be built up & buckle must be in the back.  No: Grip Shirts.  Bring your own clean up supplies.   This event is PA STATE RECORD ELIGIBLE!

Stone Weights: 100, 115, 160, 190, 210, 240, 285, 310, 340, 380, 415, 465, 520!
