  • One attempt, Clean and Press each rep.
  • There will be a 60-second time limit.
  • The competitor will be presented with one log. The score is based on the number of reps performed.
  • The competitor will start behind a line. On the judges/announcer’s command, the competitor may begin pressing the log.
  • Each rep has to be cleaned the crash pads.
  • The competitor may press the log overhead using any technique they prefer, including strict press, push press, split jerk, and viper press.
  • The competitor must wait for the “Good” down signal to get credit and continue with the next rep.
  • The competitor must lower the log under control. No deliberate dropping of the log will be permitted. The athlete may forfeit their attempt in doing so.
  • Lockout Standards: Standard Strongman Corp lockout standards apply. Competitors must demonstrate full lockout with their hips, knees, and elbows extended. The feet should be parallel, and the head must be pushed through. Competitors must show control of the log. Accommodations for physiological limitations must be discussed with the judge beforehand and are subject to the judge's discretion.
  • We will accept rep count disputes with video evidence. We will not accept disputes about lockout quality if the athlete received a down command from the judge.
  • Leaving the designated area with the log or dropping the log off the pads will result in a no-rep. Competitors may drop the log from overhead, but it must be done in a controlled manner to ensure safe landing on the pads. Competitors may not rest the log on their head, or the rep will not count.
  • Equipment allowed: Gloves, Chalk, Sleeves, Knee Wraps, Belt, Grip Shirts, Grip Shorts
  • Equipment NOT allowed: Tacky, Spray Tack, Elbow Wraps, USS Grip Shirts

Max Axle Deadlift

  • 3 attempts for max weight.
  • Axle deadlift will be from the floor.
  • There will be a 30-second time limit per attempt.
  • Weight jumps will be the same for all classes. 50/40. An axle is 25lbs instead of the 45lbs for a barbell, so an axle with a pair of 45's on it is 115lbs.
  • For the sake of consistency the weight jumps for all weight classes will be at 50/40. An axle with just a pair of 45lb plates is 115 for instance.
  • The competitors will be lined up in their lane in reverse order of signups. Athletes will remain in that order for every round. Some classes will be divided over multiple lanes but may be combined when only a few competitors remain.
  • Women's starting weight is 115lbs, Novice and Teen Men start at 205, Open M LW,  Open M  and MW Masters Men at 295 and Open HW and SHW Men at 385. Athletes don't need to take the first jump nor do they need to do every jump.
  • Competitors may skip weights. If you fail a weight, you can’t attempt successive weights.
  • The competitor will start behind the mat. On “go”, the competitor has 30 seconds to successfully deadlift the axle bar. You may use straps but strapping in is included in the 30 seconds.
  • At the beginning of every round, every athlete will be asked, in order, if they’d like to take the weight.
  • Lockout Standards: Standard Strongman Corp lockout standards apply. Competitors must demonstrate full lockout with their hips and knees locked out, and their shoulders neutral. Competitors must show control of the axle bar. NO DROPPING OF THE BAR WILL BE ALLOWED.  Accommodations for physiological limitations must be discussed with the judge beforehand and are subject to the judge's discretion.
  • We will not accept disputes about lockout quality if the athlete received a down command from the judge.
  • Conventional stance only. NO SUMO Allowed
  • Hitching is allowed.

HuSCafell & Sandbag Carry

  • 60 second time limit.
  • The competitor will start behind the mat. On the start command, the competitor will step up to the HuSCafell Stone from the ground, pick it up, carry it 40ft, and place it on the line.
  • The competitor will then pick up the sandbag and carry it in front of them, walking it back and forth on the course (40' lengths) until the time limit is over. Carrying the sandbag on the athlete shoulder is NOT allowed. Once the athlete drops the sandbag, the attempt is finished and a measurement will be taken.
  • Once the athlete picks up the HuSCafell stone off the ground and clears the "pick-up" zone their attempt begins.  The HuSCafell can be dropped and repicked ONE TIME before the “pick-up zone”. Once the sandbag has been dropped the attempt is finished and the final distance will be recorded.
  • There will be line markers at the end of the course to signify where the athlete will turn around and head back down the course. The athlete needs to only break (pass) the line with part of their foot, the whole foot does not need to pass. However, if no part of the athlete’s foot passes the line, they must take another step for the length and turn to be valid. If the athlete doesn’t break the line and turns back, they will be flagged by the judge and must walk back to the line and successfully break it before turning.
  • Equipment negligence will not be tolerated. If at any point the athlete tosses, throws, launches, or hurls the HuSCafell, they will receive a ZERO on the event.
  • Equipment allowed: Elbow and Knee Sleeves, Wrist Wraps, Gloves, Chalk, Briefs, Grip Shirts, Briefs, Belts, Grip Shorts. The athlete may choose to use a soft belt, a hard belt, or a combination of the two. The athlete MAY NOT use a double layer of 2 hard belts or 2 soft belts. (Keep in mind that belts may decrease your ability to maintain a solid grip on the objects) Forearm guards (like leather gauntlets or wraps) will be allowed, but they may not have rubber grippers or grip assistance. Forearm guards will be subject to approval by judges.
  • Equipment not allowed: No tacky, spray tacky, or any adhesive assistance allowed. USS Grip Shirts, Rigid (not stretchy) Briefs (Powerlifting Briefs)

  • Split times will be taken
  • Height crossbar: 12' for women and 15' for men
  • Athletes must start with the lightest sandbag and work their way up to the heaviest bag.
  • If the bag gets stuck on top of the apparatus for 5 seconds or more, that counts as a successful throw. If the implement gets stuck at the top for less than 5 sec and falls towards the athlete, it will count as no good.
