Swamp Monsters II
$80
Gainesville, FL
Event 1: Deadlift Ladder
Equipment Allowed: Belts (one soft, one hard belt allowed), wrist wraps, knee sleeves, chalk, straps of any kind (no hooks), deadlift suits, briefs, and knee wraps
Time Limit: 75 seconds
Scoring: Reps
Athletes will have 75 seconds to work through the ladder starting with an axle, deadlift bar and finishing with a frame deadlift for reps in the remaining time. Weight will increase with each jump to the next bar in the ladder until you reach the frame deadlift where you will take that weight for as many reps as possible for the remaining time. Total reps will be your score on the event
Event 2: Trump Log for Reps
Equipment Allowed: Belts (one soft, one hard belt allowed), wrist wraps, knee sleeves, chalk, elbow sleeves, and grip shirts
Time Limit: 60 seconds
Scoring: Reps at weight
Athlete will have a choice of 2 different logs. Men will press a 12" Pitbull or 13.5" strength shop log, and women will press a 10" Rogue or 10" valor log depending on choice of weight. Any reps on the heavier log will place higher than any reps on the lighter log. You may switch logs during the time limit - so you can attempt the lighter log and then move to the heavier or vice versa - but only reps with the heaviest log recorded will count.
Event 3: Max 30' Yoke
Equipment Allowed: Belts (one soft, one hard belt allowed), wrist wraps, knee sleeves, chalk, grip shirt, and knee wraps
Time Limit: 60 seconds
Scoring: Weight and Distance
Athletes will have 60 seconds to complete 30' after calling their weight. You may call your weight ONCE. Once your class begins, you cannot change your weight decision. Any completed run at 30' trumps any other run regardless of weight. Any ties in weight will come down to time completed. Unlimited drops, if the yoke does not cross the line by 60 seconds - a distance will be taken, divided by the 30 feet then multiplied for your total score.
So if you yoke 700 for 15' exactly, and a competitor finishes a 350lb yoke for 30' then the 350lb would win the tie breaker since they finished. If you yoke 300lbs for 10', your score would be 100lbs, if you yoke 800 for 15', then your score would be 400 and so on. This puts emphasis on strategy and calling your weights day of.
Event 4: Car Flip/Fingal Finger for Reps
Equipment Allowed: All equipment allowed
Time Limit: 75 seconds
Scoring: Time
Athlete will start on desired implement. If Fingal Fingers, hands may start anywhere as long as you are not touching the fingal finger, if the car is the desired implement, you may start with hands face up on top of the car (think a starting position like with stones). Athlete will get an athlete ready, lift command. Athlete will then have 75 seconds to do as many reps with any of the 3 implements they would like. For the finger, a full flip is taken from the time the finger hits the pad on the opposite side, for the car - a full flip means it has been flipped on the opposite side of which it started. Points will be scored based on the implement lifted based on a tiered system MOCKED below. THIS SYSTEM IS NOT FINALIZED, WE ARE STILL TESTING WEIGHTS AND LENGTHS: THOUGH THERE WILL BE 3 IMPLEMENT OPTIONS, AND BASED ON A 1, 2, 3 TIER SYSTEM BASED ON DIFFICULTY THROUGH TESTING.
Men:
Car or Tire (based on matrix below): 25 points
Heavy 20' finger: 5 points
Light 12' finger: 1 points
Women:
Car or Tire (based on matrix below): 25 points
Heavy 12' finger: 5 points
Light 10' finger: 1 points
We are still testing weights, but currently have a small Toyota and are acquiring another for heavier classes just in case. Novice classes will likely be using a tire, but we will have the car after the competition for anyone that wants to stay and give it a go. If there is a single person in a novice class, or the decision to use the car is unanimous among all competitors, we may switch that implement out also. Women will likely be using the smaller Toyota dependent upon testing with our female athletes in the area.
Event 5: Max Stone over Bar
Equipment Allowed: Tacky or sticky substance, chalk, stone sleeves, tape, grip shirt, soft belt
Time Limit: 30 seconds
Scoring: Weight
Height: 48" for men, 46" for women Weights: 70lbs up to 425lbs standard diameter, one 20" 420lbs
Athletes will have 30 seconds to load a stone over a bar set to 48 or 46 inches. Athletes will start with hands on the bar and on the command pick up the stone and load it. After a successful load the athlete will move to the end of the line for the next stone attempt. Athletes can jump in when they want and can take as many attempts as they would like. Athletes may not take another attempt after a miss. If athletes make it to the last stone a split time will be given. A clean up station provided by Will Development will be set up to prevent a mess.
Weights are still being tested and to be approved. If a weight is listed, it is likely to have VERY minimal change from there but it is subject to change. (:
