Rebellion at The Republic

I'm pleased to announce the First Annual Rebellion at The Republic!

I am extremely excited for this event and much planning has gone into it.  It is our distinct pleasure to bring you a large event at The Republic.  There will be vendors on site, food available for purchase, and much more.

Top Overall Male and Top Overall Female will win $750 EACH, along with huge prize basket!!!! (Only OPEN/MASTERS CLASS)

There will be medals for 1st-3rd places in all categories.  

There are custom trophies and goody bags for all 1st place competitors!

This is a sanctioned Strongman Corporation contest and as such, you will have the ability to earn a Strongman Corporation Nationals invite if you are in a qualifying class.

All athletes MUST have a valid Strongman Corporation membership that must be proven at weigh-ins to compete.  If you do not have a membership you will not be able to compete at the contest.  This includes the novice class.

This event will be held OUTSIDE.

If Weather does not permit this event from occurring, it shall be rescheduled for the next day, or a future date.

General Rules:

  • If there are not enough 3+ competitors in a weight class, it will be combined with it's corresponding weight class.
  • Competition shirts must be worn for every event.  If athlete is not wearing their contest shirt they will not be allowed on the floor.
  • Athletes SHALL NOT wear headphones on the contest floor.
  • Grip shirts are ONLY allowed for atlas stones, and they may be worn on top of competition shirt.
  • Athletes will respect the equipment on the floor.  Blatant disrespect or negligent care of the equipment on the floor or in the warm up area will result in disqualification.
  • Athletes will respect the staff and other competitors.  Violent or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated and may result in disqualification.  We all want to have fun out here, get amped, have a good time, but don't forget we're all here to have a good time.
  • All rule and specifications are subject to change at any time at the event promoter's discretion.

WEIGH INs/CHECK INs

  • CHECK-INs are at 8am April 22nd.  Rules meeting at 9am.  If you arrive at 9am you are late and may not be allowed to compete.  We need to disburse shirts, get your yoke height and get you checked in prior.
  • All competitors will check-in on April 21st on site.  Weigh ins will be conducted at that time and shirts will be dispersed.  No weigh ins the day of the event.  ALL COMPETITORS MUST WEIGH IN
  • Weigh-ins will be from 9am-5pm.  If you have some special circumstance, let me know in advance.

Spectators

  • Spectators must have a ticket, they are sold here on IronPodium for $10 or the day of the event at the door for $15.

NATIONALS QUALIFICATIONS

Here is the part you all care about, please read thoroughly as these are rules set in place by Strongman Corporation. 

  1. If there is only 1 ATHLETE in a class it will be combined with a similar class.  If this is not possible they will receive a bid to Regionals.
  2. If there are 2-5 ATHLETES in a class
    1. 1st place qualifies for Nationals and Regionals 2023
    2. 2nd place qualifies for Regionals 2023
    3. 3rd place qualifies for Regionals 2023
  3. If there are 6+ ATHLETES in a class
    1. 1st place qualifies for Nationals and Regionals 2023
    2. 2nd place qualifies for Nationals Regionals 2023
    3. 3rd place qualifies for Regionals 2023
    4. 4th place qualifies for Regionals 2023

EVENTS AND RULES

1. ARSENAL ATHLETICS MAX MAMMOTH BAR DEADLIFT

  1. This is a MAX lift.
  2. Athletes will make their initial bid at check-in.
  3. 20 pound jumps will be used until we reach 600 pounds, then athletes may use 10 pound jumps.
  4. Athletes can continue to use the warmup area during the event.
  5. Athlete will have 60 seconds from the time they are called to the platform to complete the rep.
  6. Within that 60 seconds the lift may be attempted as many times as possible.  Any rep that leaves the floor prior to the end of the time will count as a rep if completed.
  7. Athlete must wait for the DOWN command prior to lowering the weight.  A rep lowered before receiving command will not count.  Weight must be controlled down the ground.
  8. Rep will be considered complete once knees are locked and hips are through.
  9. 3 attempts only!
  10. You can fail a previous rep and try again at a higher weight, but you cannot go down in weight.

Equipment Allowed:

Chalk, knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, deadlift straps, figure 8's, 1 soft belt and 1 hard belt.  No suits, no tacky of any kind. 

2. TRUCK PULL

It is HIGHLY suggested that athletes bring high traction shoes for this event.  Hiking boots, rock climbing shoes, or other high traction footwear is recommend.  No cleats or spikes are allowed.

  1. Athlete will start in the READY position.  This will be with harness on, and lead rope tight.
  2. Athlete will begin on the GO command and will have 60 seconds to complete the 30 foot course.

Equipment Allowed:

Chalk, knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, gloves, wrist wraps, soft and hard belt.  No adhesive of any kind allowed.

3. LOG CLEAN AND PRESS AWAY

  1. Athlete will start in front of implement with hands off.
  2. On GO command, athlete will take implement, clean it from the ground and press it overhead as many times as possible within 60 seconds.  Log only NEEDS to be cleaned once.
  3. Athlete can fail/drop/reset implement as many times as they would like within their time period.
  4. Viper press is allowed.
  5. Athlete must wait for the DOWN command for a repetition to be completed.  Failure to wait will result in a no rep being given.
  6. Rep will be considered complete with knees and elbows locked out, log overhead, and in stable control of the weight.

Equipment Allowed:

Chalk, grip shirt under contest shirt, grip shorts, knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, 1 soft belt, and 1 hard belt.  No suits, briefs, adhesive of any kind, double belts, or wraps.

4. YOKE TO FARMERS MEDLEY

  1. Athletes may begin with either implement, and will start behind the line with hands off implements.
  2. On GO command athletes will approach implement, carry it down 30 feet, run back, and carry the other implement 30 feet.
  3. Time will be complete once the end of the last implement crosses the finish line.
  4. One drop of each implement is allowed.
  5. Sliding the implement will result in 2 second penalty.
  6. Athletes have a maximum of 60 seconds to complete the medley.

Equipment Allowed:

Chalk, grip shirt under contest shirt, knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, 1 soft belt, 1 hard belt.  No suits, no adhesive of any kind, no wraps/suits.

5. STONE MEDLEY

STONE WEIGHTS ARE APPROXIMATE - They will be close, but they are rocks made of concrete.

All competitors will compete in this event, weather permitting.

Competitors will be reordered in the order in which they are ranked prior to this event!

Platform heights are 56, 52, 48, 44, 40 inches and go down as weight goes up.

This is the tiebreaker event should there be tie.  The tiebreaker will be based on time.

  1. There will be 5 stones, of varying weights with the smallest stone going to the highest platform and the heaviest stone going to the lowest platform.
  2. Stone weights are approximate.  They will be close to these weights.
  3. Athlete will begin with one hand on the highest stone platform, away from stone.
  4. On GO command, athlete will move to the lightest stone and load it to the tallest platform.
  5. It is the athletes responsibility to ensure the stone is steady on the platform.  If the stone rolls off the platform, it will be required to reload.

Equipment Allowed:

Tacky/tacky towel, chalk, grip shirt (Non-USS), stone sleeves, gauntlets, tape wraps on arms, elbow and knee sleeves, grip shorts, soft belt and/or hard belt.  No suits or wraps.
