Texas Strength Games Regional Qualifier 

WSG2025 proudly presents Texas Strength Game Regional Qualifier, this contest is a direct route to the World Strength Games in May 2025!!! Do you want your opportunity to compete at your first International event! Those who podium at the TSGRQ will be formally invited to compete at WSG2025. This is your opportunity to put your name in stone, the events hosted here best mimic WSG2025. Here at WSG we respect STRENGTH, and maximal strength at that, which is why we have two maximum events.

In strongman, two most respected events have been Maximum Overhead and Maximum Deadlift, those who consider themselves the ”Strongest in Texas” will have the opportunity to prove that here in April.

Qualification: all Podium Athletes will receive direct invites to WSG2025

Weigh ins: April 4th at Oppose Gravity 

11:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M 

Events:

Max Log 

Event 1 will be the Max Log, the athletes will only get two attempts for the event. This rule is specific to WSG2025 rules, and will be implemented here. 

Time limit: 30 seconds (we will be lenient for a second attempt, however after 60 seconds we must call it) 

Equipment allowed: all supportive gear allowed 

Equipment not allowed: lifting straps, anything sticky

Max deadlift 

Event 2 will be the Maximum Deadlift, the athlete again here will only get two attempts for their scoring. This rule is specific to WSG2025 rules, and will be implemented here.

Time limit: 30 seconds (we will be lenient for a second attempt, however after 60 seconds we must call it)

Equipment allowed: all supportive gear allowed 

Equipment not allowed: anything sticky

Farmers down and back 

Athlete will begin with hands on the implement behind the line, the athlete will progress the course, once on the other side and half of the implement has crossed the line, the athlete will then comeback with the farmers and only the implement needs to break the line. 

Time limit: 60 seconds 

Equipment allowed: all supportive gear allowed

Equipment not allowed: lifting straps, knee wraps, anything sticky 

Conan’s Yoke 

The athlete will carry a sandbag down the course and over the yoke cross bar. Once the bag has been lifted over the bar the athlete will carry the yoke in a Zercher (Conan’s) style down the course until the yoke crosses the bar 

Time limit: 60 seconds 

Equipment allowed: all supportive gear allowed 

Equipment not allowed: lifting straps, knee wraps, anything sticky

Husafell 

The athlete will start in a square and proceed to lift the stone off the ground, IMPORTANT once the athlete takes a single step from the square your time and distance begins. (We are doing this for the athletes to have a fair shot of getting the best distance possible) 

Time limit: 30 seconds to lift in the box, 60 seconds time from when the athlete begins the course 

Equipment allowed: any supportive gear, tape 

Equipment not allowed: anything sticky, no reverse grip tape
