This is a no frills Bench Press competition. Backyard bench press rules. Touch and go. No pause. No bouncing. Control the weight down, touch your chest, and lock it out! If you’re going for max reps don’t hit us with half reps or they won’t count. SEE IF YOU GOT THE BEST BENCH IN TOWN

Allowed: Wrist Wraps, Elbow Sleeves, Elbow Wraps, Gloves, Chalk, Lifting Belts

NOT ALLOWED: Bench Shirt, Sling Shot, Tacky, Bouncing the Bar

 Athletes will be divided by Sex (Male/Female) and by age. Age groups are Teens (14 and under) Teens (15- 19), Open (20-49), and Masters (50 and older).

 The athletes will be able to compete in a 1 Rep Max competition or a Max Reps competition. 

The 1 Rep Max competition will use the DOTS formula to determine the winner in each age class.

Max Reps for Men will be 225lbs or 315lbs and max reps for Women and Teens will be 135lbs or 205lbs. Teen women (19 and under) along with teen men (14 and under) will be allowed to do the max reps competition with 115 lbs. Any women or teens wishing to do max reps with 225 or 315 will be allowed. 

Athletes may compete in the 1 rep max along with max reps competitions if they wish. 

Weigh-ins will take place at 8:00am on December 13 with the competition following at 9:00am.
