Join us on Saturday, November 8th at Unit Strength in Lindenhurst IL, to experience some of the fun the strength sports community has to offer.

November 7th at The Unit Strength Gym (616 Bridgeport Terrace Suite B, Lindenhurst, IL 60046) from 10-12pm and 3-7pm. 

November 8th from 8:00am-9:00am at the venue (Most communicate with Meet Director)

Rules & Athlete warm-up: November 8th from 9:30am-10am at the venue.

Event 1: Drum Set Deadlift (Deadlift Medley)

Description: Athletes will have 60 seconds to complete a three-bar deadlift medley in ascending order of weight. Bars must be lowered under control; no dropping from the top. Athletes must wait for a down command after each lift. Sumo stance is not permitted.

Implements:

  1. Axle Bar with Kilo Bumpers
  2. Kabuki Power Bar with Kilo Bumpers
  3. Kabuki Deadlift Bar with Kilo Bumpers

Rules:

  • Thumbs must be touching the bar.
  • Hitching and up/down or side-to-side movements are allowed.
  • Hips must be fully locked out at the top.
  • Controlled return to ground required.
  • Fastest time wins.

Equipment Allowed:

  • Chalk, wrist wraps, knee sleeves
  • Hard/soft belt
  • Straps, figure 8s

Not Allowed:

  • Sumo stance
  • Deadlift suits or briefs
  • Tacky or adhesive products
  • Gloves
  • Knee wraps

Event 2: The Prestige Press (Axel Press – Max Lift)

Description: Athletes will have three attempts to establish their heaviest successful press

Rules:

  • Lift will begin from Jerk blocks and pressed overhead to full lockout. (Strict Press, Push Press, Push Jerk Or Split Jerk all acceptable)
  • Down command required to complete the lift.
  • Weight increases each round; no attempts may be repeated.
  • Tie Breaker goes to the competitor who successfully lifts it in fewer attempts

Equipment Allowed:

  • Belt, wrist wraps, elbow sleeves
  • Chalk, lifters/flat shoes

Not Allowed:

  • Grip Shirts, Pressing shirts or supportive suits
  • Tacky or adhesives

Event 3: So Much Room for Activities (SSB Squat for Reps)

Description: Athletes perform as many reps as possible in 60 seconds using a Safety Squat Bar (SSB). Each rep must meet depth and return to full lockout.

*Top three competitors with most reps wins access to the RP Diet Coach App or Hypertrophy App (winners choice):

  • Winner- 1 year
  • 2nd- 6 months
  • 3rd- 3 months

Commands:

  • "Lift" – athlete unracks bar
  • "Start" – timer begins
  • "Stop" – at time limit

Standards:

  • Hip crease must pass below the top of the knee
  • Hips and knees must fully lock out at top
  • No bouncing or double dipping
  • If a squat is failed due to missing depth, the lifter may continue with the remaining attempts. However, a true failed rep—one requiring intervention from spotters for safety—will mark the end of the attempt and the set

Equipment Allowed:

  • Belt, knee sleeves or wraps, elbow sleeves
  • Wrist wraps, chalk, lifters or flat shoes
  • Mouth guards, compression shorts (non-supportive)

Not Allowed:

  • Squat suits or supportive briefs
  • Straps or tacky products
  • Mechanical knee braces or multi-ply gear

Bar Specs:

  • Rogue Safety Squat Bar (70 lbs)
  • Height set at athlete check-in

Event 4: The Bunk Bed Carry (Yoke Carry)

Description: Athletes will carry a yoke 25 feet, then back 25 feet to the finish line. Fastest time or farthest distance completed in 60 seconds wins.

Time: 60-second time limit

Scoring: Distance completed or fastest full completion time

Course:

  • Athlete begins under the yoke
  • On judge's command, carry yoke 25 ft and back (front of yoke must cross the finish line)
  • Unlimited drops allowed
  • 2-second penalty for intentionally sliding the yoke

Equipment Allowed:

  • 1 hard belt, 1 soft belt
  • Elbow sleeves, knee sleeves
  • Chalk

Not Allowed:

  • Suits or tacky
  • Wrist straps, wrist wraps, figure 8s
  • Grip shirts

Event 5: Nighthawk vs Dragon (Sandbag Cornhole)

Description: Athletes throw weighted sandbags at a giant cornhole board placed 10–15 feet away. Three throws per turn. Score based on accuracy and bag weight.

Scoring:

  • Bag ON board = 1x weight
  • Bag IN hole = 3x weight
  • Bag OFF board = 0

Example: 25 lb on board + 35 & 45 lb in hole = 25 + (35×3) + (45×3) = 265 lbs

Rules:

  • No spinning throws
  • One throw per bag only
  • Line violations result in 0 for that throw
  • 60 seconds total with countdown reminders at 45, 30, and 15 seconds

Equipment Allowed:

  • Belts, chalk, wrist wraps

Not Allowed:

  • Adhesives, gloves, tacky

Strongman Corporation membership is required for all competitors and can be purchased online at https://strongmancorporation.com/memberships/. Please note that USS and Strongman Corporation are not the same, and you will need a Strongman Corporation membership for this competition.

Nationals bids will be awarded in Open classes based on the number of athletes in each class as follows:
- 1 athlete in a class: the promoter may merge the class with another class; if the athlete competes alone they will earn an invite by completing (i.e. not “zeroing”) at least 4 of the 5 events to the standards originally set forth by the promoter.
- 2-4 athletes in a class: 1st place qualifies for Nationals
- 5-9 athletes in a class: 1st and 2nd place qualify for Nationals
- 10+ athletes in a class: 1st-3rd place qualify for Nationals

Masters Athletes qualify for America's Strongest Master by placing in the top 3 of a Masters class *or* in the top 5 of an Open class.

Teens qualify for America's Strongest Teen by participating in a Teen, Novice, or Open division.

Weigh-ins will be conducted in KILOGRAMS and there is NO "allowance" for clothing. For example, an athlete in the 64kg class must weigh in at 64.0kg or less. Athletes must weigh in wearing (minimally) a bra and underwear.
