Date: Friday, January 17th
Time: 10am-Noon & 4:00pm-6:00pm

No weigh-ins the day of the show, no exceptions, please plan accordingly.  I am not bringing the scale to the venue.

RULES MEETING: Saturday, January 18th @ 9:15AM

Registrations received AFTER December 20th are NOT guaranteed a competition shirt.

 

Event 1: Max Log Clean & Press
**AK STATE RECORD EVENT**

60-second limit. Wessel’s Rules - Athletes will have 3 attempts to reach a max weight.  Weight will increase by 10lbs. each round. Weight will not decrease. Last successful lift will be recorded.  Athlete may press, push-press, push jerk or split jerk the implement overhead to a locked-out position.  Athlete must wait for the “DOWN” signal to receive a good lift.  State record attempts will be allotted extra time if the athlete is the only one left.

Good Lift: having the implement locked out, under control overhead with arms straight, head through, legs and feet parallel and stationary. Heaviest lift wins.

Equipment Allowed: Chalk, Knee, Elbow and Wrist Wraps or Sleeves, Belt
Equipment NOT Allowed: Lifting Straps, Tacky Towel, “Built-up” belt to provide shelf

Starting Log Weight:  
Women - 70lbs. 
Men - 160lbs.

 

Event 2: Tire Flip & Drag Medley

60-second time limit. 100ft. course 50ft./50ft. down and back.  Athlete must complete events in the proper order: Tire Flip to Sled Drag.  Athlete may start with their hands on the implement.  The whole tire must cross the line before moving onto the sled drag.  Athlete must face the sled during the drag. 

Time will stop when the sled completely crosses the finish line.

Equipment Allowed: Straps, Belt, Chalk, Knee wraps or sleeves.
Equipment NOT Allowed: Tacky, Lifting hooks or Supportive suits.

 

Event 3: Car Deadlift

60 second time limit. Athlete must lift car to a full, locked out position, standing straight up, with hips “through.” Athlete must wait for the “down” command before resetting. 

Car: Ford Focus or similar

Equipment Allowed: Straps, Belt, Chalk, Knee wraps or sleeves.
Equipment NOT Allowed: Tacky, Lifting hooks or Supportive suits

 

Event 4: Max Distance Farmer's Carry

Max Distance. MAX distance with turns at 50ft. Athlete may start with hands on the handles.  Athlete must travel around the cone before returning.  Drops are not permitted.  Distance will be measured by the end (plate) of the last implement. 

Equipment Allowed: Belt, Knee wraps or sleeves, chalk.
Equipment NOT Allowed: Tacky, Straps, Lifting Hooks

 

Event 5: Atlas Stone Over Bar

60-second time limit. Athlete must start with hands on crossbar. Stone must completely cross over bar with hands off to count the rep. Athlete may not use the crossbar or uprights for leverage to move stone over the bar.  There will be a catcher feeding the stone back to the athlete.  If the stone is thrown at the catcher in an uncontrolled manner, the catcher will ensure their own safety.  Thus, if the stone rolls away, that still counts against the athlete's time.

There will be a tacky area where athletes must apply and remove their tacky. Not removing tacky in the designated area will result in an automatic zero for the event.
