Time: 10am-Noon & 4:00pm-6:00pm

No weigh-ins the day of the show, no exceptions, please plan accordingly.

 

REGISTRATION:

  • Registrations received AFTER - December 19th - are NOT guaranteed a competition shirt.
  • Late registration ends December 26th - No registrations will be accepted after.
  • Dropping out of the competition does not guarantee you receive a shirt as we will prioritize competing athletes FIRST.

RULES MEETING:

Saturday, January 17th @ 9:00AM - Please do not be late to this as the rules will not be repeated.  

 

Event 1: Odd Object Press Medley (Sandbag, Keg, Sandbag)

  1. 60-second time limit.
  2. Clean and press each piece in order (Lightest) Sandbag, Keg, Sandbag (Heaviest).
  3. Athlete will start with both hands on the Keg, on the command lift you will shift to the right sandbag. Lifting Right to Left.
  4. You can position the sandbags prior to the start.
  5. Athlete will get a down command when ankles, knees, hips, and elbows are all locked out, head is through, and feet are parallel.
  6. Implement must be lowered under control prior to moving to the next implement.

Equipment Allowed: Grip Shirts, Belt, chalk, elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, knee wraps or sleeves.
Equipment NOT Allowed: Tacky, Tacky Towel

 

Event 2: Mammoth Bar Deadlift
**AK STATE RECORD EVENT**

  1. 60-second limit per attempt.
  2. Wessel’s Rules - Athletes will have 3 attempts to reach a max weight.
  3. Weight will increase by 20lbs. each round.
  4. Weight will not decrease.
  5. Athletes may choose when to jump in.
  6. Last successful lift will be recorded.
  7. Heaviest lift wins.
  8. Conventional stance only - Hands must be outside of legs.

Good Lift: Athlete must lift the barbell to a standing position with head up, shoulders back, legs and feet in line. Once the "DOWN" signal is given for the lift, the athlete must return the bar to the floor under control. Dropping the bar will result in a “No lift."

Any athlete attempting to break a state record MAY increase their attempt by 2.5lbs. over the previous record, however it MUST be attempted within the allotted THREE attempts, a fourth is not permitted.

All classes will start at 200lbs.

Equipment Allowed: Straps, belt, chalk, knee wraps or sleeves.
Equipment NOT Allowed: Tacky, tacky towel, lifting hooks.

 

Event 3: Ascending Frame Carry

  1. 60 second time limit.
  2. Unlimited Drops Allowed.
  3. Sliding is not permitted - a 5 second penalty will be added AFTER the first warning.
  4. Athlete may start with hands on the frame.
  5. Athlete will carry the frame 25 feet, to the other end of the course, with the back uprights crossing the line.
  6. Weight will be added according to the specific weight class.
  7. Athlete will carry the frame back for 25 feet, with the back uprights crossing the line.
  8. Distance will be measured at the end of the frame if not completed within the time limit.

Equipment Allowed: Belt, Knee wraps or sleeves, chalk.
Equipment NOT Allowed: Tacky or tacky towel, or anything else not listed above.

 

Event 4: Mooring Bit Carry

  1. 60 sec time limit.
  2. Total distance is 50’ (turns at the 25’ mark, one foot (the entire foot) must cross the 25' line before you return to the start).
  3. Start with Mooring Bit in the standing position. Hands on the cross arms.
  4. On "GO," you will lift it with your arms under the cross member. Must be carried in front of your body. At no point in time during the event can any part of the Mooring Bit be supported or carried over the shoulder. At no time can it be carried or picked from the bottom of the Mooring Bit.
  5. NO DROPS!
  6. Mooring Bit must remain in the up position at the end of your event. Time ends when both hands are overhead.
  7. If you do not finish the 50’, distance will be measured.
  8. If you cross the finish line and lift your hands overhead and the Mooring Bit falls over, a 5-second penalty will be added.


Equipment Allowed: Belt, Knee wraps or sleeves, elbow wraps or sleeves & chalk.
Equipment NOT Allowed: Anything else not listed above.

 

Event 5: Atlas Stone Over Bar

  1. 60-second time limit.
  2. Athlete must start with hands on crossbar.
  3. Stone must completely cross over bar with hands off to count the rep.
  4. Athlete may not use the crossbar or uprights for leverage to move stone over the bar.
  5. There will be a catcher feeding the stone back to the athlete.
  6. If the stone is thrown at the catcher in an uncontrolled manner, the catcher will ensure their own safety.  Thus, if the stone rolls away, that still counts against the athlete's time.

There will be a tacky area where athletes must apply and remove their tacky. Not removing tacky in the designated area will result in an automatic zero for the event.

Equipment Allowed: Tacky, Belt, Knee wraps or sleeves
Equipment NOT Allowed: Stone Strap
