The First Steel Horse Strongman Showdown comes to Fort Smith, AR!
I'd like to introduce along with the Iron Warehouse and The Steel Horse Rally The Steel Horse Strongman Showdown held right in the middle of downtown Fort Smith, AR at 6th and Garrison on May 6th, 2023!

This will be a Strongman Corporation Nationals invite for qualifying classes. This is a Strongman Corporation sanctioned event so all athletes must prove current valid Strongman Corporation membership status before being able to compete. No membership/No compete.
IMPORTANT: REGISTRATION FEE INCREASES April 22, 2023. NO REFUNDS.
The final day to register to receive a complimentary event shirt with your entry fee is April 3, 2023.
Each weight class must have at least 3 or more competitors the day of competition or they may be combined.
All competitors must have a valid Strongman Corporation Card to be able to compete the day of the event.

EVERYONE MUST check-in on the May 5th (weigh-ins are NOT allowed the day of the event), including SHW Classes- under age of 18 must have parent at check in

Qualifying for Nationals:
If there is 1 athlete in a class, they will get combined with another class or just get a regionals bid.
If there are 2-5 athletes in a class:
1st place - Qualifies for Nationals (2023) and Regionals (2023)
2nd - Qualifies for Regionals (2023)
3rd - Qualifies for Regionals (2023)
If there are 6+ athletes in a class:
1st - qualifies for Nationals (2023) and Regionals (2023)
2nd - qualifies for Nationals (2023) and Regionals (2023)
3rd - qualifies for Regionals (2023)
4th - qualifies for Regionals (2023)
Events and Rules:

No deadlift suits or Multi-ply of any kind
No tacky/ tacky towel or spray tacky
No Bare feet (shoes must be worn at all times)
Contest shirt must be worn at all times
No build up belts (Only 1 hard and 1 soft allowed)
1. Axle Clean and Press (for time)
Athlete will start standing
Belts cleans ARE allowed.
Standard pick height from ground.
Athlete will be given a 60 second time limit to lift the axle ground to overhead for 5 reps, must clean and press each rep, athlete WILL be given a down command when axle is fully locked out and feet are even.
All kinds of pressing are allowed, split jerk, power jerk, push press, and/or strict press.
Athlete must maintain control of the implement. If implement rolls or bounces off of platform then rep will not count.
ITEMS ALLOWED: wrist wraps, knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, 1 soft belt, 1 hard belt either a leather or a hard Velcro belt (one or the other, not both), shoes must be worn at all times.
2. Husafell Max distance carry in 60 secs
Athlete will start with hands off the Husafell implement and at the judges go will pick the Husafell and carry for max distance in 60 secs. The Athlete will be walking on a 40 foot course and just the Athlete’s foot must cross line in order to make turn.
Athlete will be given a turn command at the 40 foot marks.
Deadlift Suits and briefs ARE NOT ALLOWED.

3. 4 Keg Load into car deadlift frame (fastest time).
Athletes will start at the lightest Keg. Kegs will be lined up from the lightest keg being farthest from frame to heaviest keg being closest to frame. Athlete will load lightest to heaviest kegs one at a time. After loading first keg athlete will pull 1 rep on car deadlift frame. Then move to 2nd keg and load and pull one rep on car deadlift frame. Athlete will continue through the rest of the kegs until final keg has been loaded and a rep has been pulled on the car deadlift frame.
60 second time limit.
Time stops once the competitors has finished the last deadlift on the final keg load.
No tacky or tacky towels allowed.
ITEMS ALLOWED: gloves, wrist wraps, knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, 1 soft belt, 1 hard belt either a leather or a hard Velcro belt (one or the other, not both), shoes must be worn at all times.
4. Thor’s Hammer Hold (longest time).
Athletes will start with their hands on the Thor’s Hammer.
Athlete with stand with back against post. Time will start when Athlete’s arms are perpendicular to the ground.
Athletes will be given 1 warning if arms start to drop. Time will immediately stop once athletes arms drop below perpendicular.
No tacky or tacky towels are allowed.
