The Third Annual Rougarou Classic

The Atlas Strength Shop will be hosting the 3rd Annual Rougarou Classic on Saturday November 19th at 10:00am.

Weigh ins will be from 9:00am-12:00pm and again from 2:00pm-5:00pm on Friday November 18th then again at 8:00am on November 19th

Rules meeting Starts at 9:00am on Saturday November 19th

Rules: (Copies will be handed out at weigh ins as well)

Event 1: Sand Bag Press for Reps;  On the command “START” the Athlete will pick up their sandbag from the floor and press it as many times as they can in 60 seconds.  If the athlete drops the bag they will be allowed to pick it back up.

Equipment Allowed: Grip Shirts, Knee Sleeves, Elbow Sleeves, Wrist Wraps, Belts, (soft belts too)

Event 2: Axle Squat for Reps; on the command “START” the athlete will unrack the axle from a Monolift and Squat.  We will have blocks set up to ensure the athlete breaks parallel.  BOTH TIRES MUST TOUCH FOR THE REP TO COUNT!  The athlete will have 60 seconds to complete as many reps as possible  

Equipment Allowed: Squat Suits, Grip Shirt, Chalk, Knee Sleeve, Knee Wraps, Elbow Sleeves, Wrist Wraps, Belt (soft belts too)

Event 3: Frame Carry;  on the command “START” the athlete will pick up the frame and carry it 100 feet with a drop at turn at 50 Feet.  Athletes May drop as many times as they need to but any slide will deemed advantageous will result in a 3 second penalty.  The time cap is :60 seconds   

Equipment Allowed: Chalk, Knee Sleeves, Elbow Sleeves, Wrist Wraps, Belt, Soft Belt, 

Event 4: Sandbag Throw for Height;  on the command “START” each athlete will have 60 seconds to grab their sandbag and throw it over the bar. Each athlete will get 3 attempts.  If you miss you’re out! (WESSELS RULE)

Equipment Allowed: Chalk, Knee Sleeves, Elbow Sleeves, Wrist Wraps, Belt, Soft Belt

Event 5: Max Height Atlas Stone; on the command “START” each athlet will have :60 seconds to load their stone over a bar.  This event will be last man standing and the bar will rise in 4 inch increments   

Equipment Allowed: Chalk, Tacky, Stone Sleeves, Tape, Grip Shirts, Knee Sleeves,  Tacky will remain in the designated area ONLY.
