Welcome back to the 5th Annual Tournament of Titans! We’re thrilled to partner with Anthony SanLorenzo for another incredible show at Bierstadt brewery!

Event Details:

  • This year’s tournament will feature 4 high-octane events, designed for Open Class competitors only—no novice categories.
  • The competition will be fast-paced, with previous events wrapping up in under 3 hours.

What to Expect:

  • Prepare to test your limits at one of Denver’s premier Strongman shows.
  • This is your chance to lift heavy and stand out in a top-tier competition.

Awards and Opportunities:

  • Podium finishers will earn an invitation to USS Nationals 2025.
  • Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 competitors.
  • Aiming for 1st place? It’s your opportunity to take home the coveted top trophy!

NOTE - Any athlete seen drinking will be removed from competing.  No exceptions, save the fun for after we are done so we can all enjoy together!

  • Weigh ins will be available from 7:30 - 8:00 am morning of the competition at Bierstadt - BY APPOINTMENT ONLY

ORDER OF EVENTS:

  1. Axle Clean & Press Away
  2. Axle Wagon Wheel Deadlift
  3. Sandbag Carry Max Distance
  4. Sandbag Toss Series

*Please note that the events, order of events, and weight are all subject to change. 

FOR ALL EVENTS: 

  1. Competition shirt MUST be worn
  2. No bare feet (must have at least socks on)
  3. No tacky or sticky substance
  4. No gloves
  5. No build-up belts (only one hard and one soft)
  6. No suits or briefs (EXCEPT for deadlift)
  7. Any athlete who leaks any body fluids (blood, urine, vomit, etc. ) on the competition field must help clean it up.
  8. No grip shirts/shorts are allowed during this show.  Grip shirts can be worn under your competition shirt not showing.

EVENT RULES

EVENT 1: Axle Clean & Press Away

Equipment Allowed:  Chalk, Wrist Wraps, Elbow Sleeves, Knee Sleeves, Warmer Shorts, One Soft Belt, One Hard Belt

Time Limit: 60 seconds

Scoring: Max Reps

Event Instructions:

  • Start Command: Athletes have 60 seconds to complete as many clean and press-away reps as possible.
  • Belt Cleans: Allowed.

Rep Validation:

  • Down Command: Given by the judge to indicate a good rep.
    • Conditions for a down command:
      • Axle pressed overhead
      • Elbows locked
      • Athlete standing upright and squared feet
      • Control of the axle
      • Looking at the judge
  • No Rep: If the judge does not give a down command and the axle is dropped.

Athlete Responsibilities:

  • Elbow Lockout Issues: Notify the judge before starting the event.

Axle Handling:

  • Returning the Axle: After receiving a down command, return the axle to the rack position for the next attempt.
  • Dropping the Axle: Can be done overhead but must be controlled and guided to the floor.
  • Tree Drop: Uncontrolled drop of the axle will result in a ZERO score for the event.

Equipment:

  • The axle will be equipped with wagon wheels.
  • Please handle the equipment with respect.


EVENT 2: Axle Wagon Wheel Deadlift

Equipment Allowed: Chalk, Wrist Wraps, Elbow Sleeves, Knee Sleeves, Warmer Shorts, One Soft Belt, One Hard Belt, Straps (any kind except metal hooks), Deadlift Suits, Deadlift Briefs

Time Limit: 60 Seconds

Scoring: Max Reps

Event Instructions:

  • Starting Position: Athlete will be strapped into the barbell.

Commands:

  • Start Command: Given by the judge to begin pulling.
  • Up and Down Commands: Judges will signal these commands.

Rep Validation:

  • Down Command: Given once a rep meets all criteria.
    • Criteria:
      • Shoulders back
      • Hips through
      • Knees locked
  • No Rep:
    • If the bar is dropped before the down command
    • If the bar is lifted before the up command
    • If the bar is finger-tipped while using straps

Equipment Handling:

  • Thumbs: Must be in contact with the axle.
  • Bar Handling: Deliberately dropping the barbell from the top will result in a ZERO for the event.

Respect for Equipment:

  • Please handle the equipment with care.

EVENT 3: Sandbag Carry Max Distance 

Equipment Allowed: Chalk, Wrist Wraps, Elbow Sleeves, Knee Sleeves, Warmer Shorts, One Soft Belt, One Hard Belt

Time Limit: 60 Seconds

Scoring: Max Distance

Starting Position:

  • Athlete sets up hovering over the sandbag.

Event Instructions:

  • Start Command: Given by the judge to begin.
  • Carry:
    • Pick up the sandbag and carry it 30 feet down the course
    • Entire sandbag must cross the 30 foot line
  • Drop and Return:
    • Drop the sandbag at the 30-foot mark
    • Re-pick the sandbag and carry it back 30 feet
    • Repeat until time runs out or the athlete declares they are finished

Carrying Method:

  • Sandbag can be carried in any way.

Rules:

  • No Drops:
    • No drops are allowed during the 30-foot runs
    • If the sandbag is dropped, the event ends immediately
    • Distance will be measured where the sandbag drops

Event Conclusion:

  • Event ends when time runs out or the athlete says they are done.

 

EVENT 4: Sandbag Toss Series 

Equipment Allowed: Chalk, Wrist Wraps, Elbow Sleeves, Knee Sleeves, Warmer Shorts, One Soft Belt, One Hard Belt

Time Limit: 60 Seconds

Scoring: Reps in Time - Split times will be taken

Throw Heights:

Men – 15 feet

Women – 13 feet

Starting Position:

  • Hands on the crossmember of the yoke.

Event Instructions:

  • Start Command: Given by the judge to begin.
  • Bag Toss:
    • Toss the first bag over the set bar height
    • The bag must clear the bar before throwing the next bag
    • If the bag does not clear the bar, retrieve and rethrow it

Timing:

  • Split times will be recorded for this event.
  • Time starts counting when the bag hits the floor after a successful toss.

Additional Notes:

  • Each bag must successfully clear the bar before proceeding to the next.
