Pasco, WA
Welcome to the Tri-Cities Strongman Showdown 2024!!!
We have five events lined up to test athletes this year.
Axle Clean and Press for Reps-
Athlete will have 60 seconds to complete as many reps as possible from the ground to overhead lockout (clean & press each rep). Athletes will receive a lift command and time will start. Athlete will proceed to clean the axle to the shoulders and then Press overhead. A successful attempt will require the athlete to have elbows locked and feet square. Athletes will then be given a good lift command and must return the barbell to the ground under control for the lift to count. Any drops other than a safety issue will result in a no lift. Belt, wrist wraps, elbow and knee sleeves only. Chalk will be the only grip aid allowed. Belt Cleans allowed. Wessels rule in effect. Grip shirts can be worn under the contest shirt.
Trump Deadlift-
Athletes will attempt to lift implements for as many reps as possible in 60 seconds. There will be two bars to choose from. Athletes will have a deadlift bar and a deadlift bar with Madewell Strength elephant bar extensions to choose from. Any single rep with the “Elephant Bar” will trump any number of reps with the Deadlift bar. Each successful lift will receive a down command before the athlete may advance to the next lift. Most reps wins in trump standard. Straps, belts, and knee sleeves allowed. No bare feet allowed. No suits or briefs. Chalk only grip aid allowed.
Dinnie Stone walk for Max distance -
Athletes will have 60 seconds to complete as many laps as possible on a 25ft course. At the start command athletes will pick the implement and proceed down the course 25ft, complete a drop, turn, and return 25ft as many times as possible. Once the edge of the implement crosses the line the athlete may set the implement down for the return trip. There will be a 1-drop limit. On the second drop a distance will be taken. Belts and knee sleeves allowed. No grip aids other than chalk (i.e. no tacky substances).
Yoke and Sandbag Carry Medley-
Athletes will have 75 secs to carry the Yoke and then Sandbag the initial 50ft and then return both implements back 50ft. The tips of the Yoke must cross and the Sandbag must be fully over the line after each 50ft distance. The Yoke will be first followed by the Sandbag (yoke, sandbag, yoke, sandbag). Belt, knee and elbow sleeves will be allowed. No grip aids other than chalk (i.e. no tacky substances). Grip shirts must be worn under the contest shirt.
Head to Head Sandbag Over Bar-
Athletes will compete head to head placing the Sandbag over the bar as many time as possible in a last man standing format. Competitors will go head to head until one athlete is no longer able to place the bag over the bar. At this point the remaining athlete has the option to continue putting the bag over the bar until they choose to stop or can no longer lift the bag over the bar. Remaining athlete will be moving back and forth to place the bag over the bar. There will be no bag “return.” Most reps win. Knees sleeves, belts, and grip shirts allowed under contest shirt.
