RULES
~ During the contest if any athlete needs to contest a call, or if a judge made what they believe to be an error, the athlete (and only the athlete) will need to bring a video to review with the appointed head judge or event director for review. This person will review any video footage and make a final call. At no time should any athlete, or athlete representative approach the score keeper, or the score keeper table with any questions.
Athletes will be reordered after each event based on results of event. For the final event, athletes will be reordered based on contest standing. The first event order will be based on when athletes signed up for the event. Last to sign up will be first to go. ~
#1 - KEG OVERHEAD PRESS (Ground to Overhead For Max Reps :60)
Athletes will stand behind keg and start with hands off of keg. Athletes will wait for command, "Athletes Ready, Take your Mark, GO" . Upon hearing command, athletes will proceed to Clean & Press Keg Overhead. Upon pressing the keg overhead, they will maintain their overhead position until they are given a DOWN command (Verbal and Visual) from their judge after observing a good lockout from the Athlete. A good lockout consists of athlete showing overhead control of the implement, both arms locked out, feet parallel and not in a split position, (hips extended and "stacked" over knees and ankles). If athlete "jumps" the command and lowers the keg before the down command, they will be given a no rep.
Athlete can attempt to re-press the keg again without touching the keg to the ground. Keg must touch ground between each successful press. Kegs may not be rested on a belt, or on top of the head. Control must be maintained of keg and must not be dropped from overhead. There will be a crash pad in front of all athletes if they are unable to maintain control and accidentally drop keg. However, it is up to the athlete to maintain control of the implement as much as possible. No Reps will be given for athletes (deemed purposefully) dropping kegs from overhead.
EQUIPMENT ALLOWED: Grip Shirts (Under Comp Shirt Only), Wrist Wraps, Elbow Sleeves, Knee Sleeves, Receiver Gloves, Chalk, Soft Belt, Hard Belt, Double Belt (1 Soft/ 1 Hard), Lifters...
EQUIPMENT NOT ALLOWED: Doubled Up Elbow Sleeves, Double up Hard Belts, Tacky of any kind.
*****
#2 - HERCULES HOLD (Max Hold +/- :60)
Athletes will step up to the implement and take a hold of the handles, extending their arms fully and in a lateral raise position. Spotters will slowly set the "arms" for the athlete, as directed by the athlete. Athlete will be responsible to communicate to release slack on left/right and give a verbal ready command. Upon hearing the ready command from the athlete, the event judge will say release to spotters and time will begin as the Athlete "accepts" the weight. Time ends as soon as one or both hands release from the handles. Athletes MAY hook grip the handles. Steel Pipes weigh over 200# each and are 10ft tall.
EQUIPMENT ALLOWED: Elbow Sleeves, Soft Belt, Hard Belt, Chalk, Knee Sleeves, Wrist Wraps
EQUIPMENT NOT ALLOWED: Tacky of any kind, Gloves, Taped Fingers.
*****
#3 - POWER STAIRS + YOKE RUN MEDLEY (:75)
Athletes will start under the yoke facing AWAY from Audience. Judge will say "Athletes Ready, Take your Mark, GO". Athletes will run the yoke as quickly as possible 30-50ft (Depending on our space) with the entire yoke across the line. They will then proceed to the power stairs and move both of their implements from the bottom to the top of the stairs. Once complete, they will return to their yoke and run it back to the starting position with the yoke fully across the line.
EQUIPMENT ALLOWED: Grip Shirt, Knee Sleeves, Elbow Sleeves, Wrist Wraps, Chalk, Soft Belt, Hard Belt
EQUIPMENT NOT ALLOWED: Tacky of any kind, Straps
*****
#4 - SANDBAG CARRY (Max Distance in :60)
Athletes will start behind standing sandbag. Athletes will be given the "Athletes Ready, Take your Mark, GO" command. Athletes will pick up the sandbag and carry it as far as possible in :60. The course will be approximately 50ft in distance with cones set up on the ends that the athlete must walk around. Sandbags may NOT be shouldered and must be carried in front of the Athlete. If the athlete needs to reset the bag from a squat position, they will have not more than :10 to do so. If they are in that position any longer, it will count as a drop and their run will be over.
EQUIPMENT ALLOWED: Grip Shirts (Under Comp Shirt Only), Knee Sleeves, Elbow Sleeves, Wrist Wraps, Chalk, Soft Belt, Hard Belt, receiver gloves.
EQUIPMENT NOT ALLOWED: Tacky of any kind
*****
#5 - STONE OVER BAR (Max Reps)
Athletes will start with both wrists on the bar..... Please don't grip the bar with you hands full of tacky like we saw happen last year!!!! Athletes will then be given the "Athletes Ready, Take your Mark, GO" command. They will pick up the stone and load it over the crossbar of the yoke. Athletes can NOT grip the crossbar of the yoke with either, or both hands at any time in an effort to aid in pushing the stone over the bar. If this is done, a no rep will be called if the stone does go over the bar.
Heights:
Women: 48"
Men: 54"
EQUIPMENT ALLOWED: Your favorite beater stone T-Shirt so you don't totally thrash your comp shirt, Soft Belt, Hard Belt, Elbow Sleeves, Knee Wraps, Knee Sleeves, Wrist Wraps
EQUIPMENT NOT ALLOWED: I don't mind if you want to do stones shirtless, however, if you are hairy AF, that's gonna be a no from me dog! No one else needs to eat your chest toupee during their stone run. If you are hairy and you still need to go shirtless, I can direct you to a waxing salon.... or Wal*Mart sells razors.
*****
There will be a designated area for tacky application and removal, as well as a "Holding Bin" for athletes that have applied tacky. Athletes will NOT be allowed outside of these areas once tacky has been applied. Immediately upon completing their stone series, all athletes will immediately go to the tacky clean up areas and remove all tacky. We will provide solutions (WD-40, Goo Gone, Baby Oil, Orange / Lemon Magic Spray) and towels for tacky clean up. Athletes will stay in clean up area until all tacky has been removed. There will be a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for spreading tacky in the arena, the bathrooms or around the expo center. Deviation will be a possible DQ from the event, or from the contest depending on the severity. Please don't make us make this call. Thank you!
