This is a qualifier for the 2023 United States Strongman Nationals. Top 3 in each open class and 1st place in the novice classes qualify for Nationals.

--------------------------------------------------------------Spectator Fee: There is a $30 entry fee for spectators being charged by the Convention Center. This will get you entry to both shows (Bodybuilding, Strongman) plus all the vendors.

AWARDS:
$500 for top OPEN male and female athletes (must have at least 3 competitors for cash payout)
& trophies/medals for 1-3rd place in all divisions/classes.
Events:
1.) Axle Clean & Press Away: 60 Seconds
Athletes will clean once and press away. Athletes will have 60 seconds to complete as many reps as possible. Strict press, push press, split jerk, and push jerk all allowed. Elbows must be locked overhead, and head through to receive a down call. DO NOT DROP THE WEIGHT FROM OVERHEAD. YOU WILL RECEIVE A ZERO FOR THIS EVENT. Axle must be lowered controlled to the floor.
Equipment allowed: Sleeves, Grip Shirts (No SC/OSG), Wrist Wraps, and Belt. Not Allowed: Tacky, tacky towel, suits, briefs, lifting straps or grip aids of any kind aside from chalks.
2.) Max Dinnie Deadlift: (Wessel’s Rule)
These will be Dinnie rings attached to loading pins, NOT ACTUAL STONES. The pin heights will be staggered (one shorter than the other) approximately 20” and 22” from the floor to the top of the ring. You will get 3 attempts to find your Max Dinnie Deadlift (If you miss on any of your attempts - your last successful rep will be recorded). The athlete can start with hands on the rings, and on the START command the athlete will have 30 seconds to attempt the deadlift. The athlete must wait for a DOWN command after showing hip extension and then lower the weight down to the floor in a controlled manner. The rep is COMPLETE after the athlete brings the weight back down to the FLOOR in a controlled manner.

3.) Revis Strength Sandbag to Shoulder Ladder: 60 Seconds
Athlete will begin behind the Start line. When given the "START" command, the athlete will attempt to shoulder each sandbag in ascending order (light to heaviest). The athlete must extend the free arm and wait for a DOWN command. The bags will be laying flat on the floor and spaced approximately 5’ from each other. Split times for each sandbag will be taken.
Equipment allowed: Sleeves, Grip Shirts (No SC/OSG), Wrist Wraps, and Belt. Not Allowed: Tacky, tacky towel, suits, briefs, lifting straps or grip aids of any kind aside from chalks.
4.) Sandbag/Sled Medley: 60 Seconds
Athlete will begin behind the Start line next to the Sandbag (hands off the sandbag). When given the "START" command, the athlete will pick and carry the sandbag 50’ then place it on the sled and run back 50’ to pull the sled (standing - arm over arm) until the sled crosses the Start line. Fastest time wins.
Equipment allowed: Gloves, Sleeves, Grip Shirts (No SC/OSG), Wrist Wraps, and Belt. Not Allowed: Tacky, tacky towel, suits, briefs.
5.) Hammer Hold: (Longest Hold Wins)
Athlete must hold the Hammer straight out from torso with two hands. A slight bend in the elbow is permitted. Excessive angle, or too Low/High will result in stoppage of time. Athlete will have one warning from judge to correct form. The next infraction will result in time stoppage.
Equipment allowed: Sleeves, Grip Shirts (No SC/OSG), Wrist Wraps, and Belt. Not Allowed: Built up Belts, Tacky, tacky towel, suits, briefs, lifting straps or grip aids of any kind aside from chalks.
