EVENTS
- Shield Carry to Yoke
This will be a head to head event! Athletes will begin behind each hussafel. Athletes will be given an “athlete ready, set, go” command to pick from the ground and carry their hussafel 50 feet, set it down on a box, then pick and carry their yoke 50 feet back as fast as possible. If an athlete does not complete the full distance in the 1 minute time limit, a distance will be recorded.
Unlimited drops. No sliding. If the judge determines there was intentional sliding, there may be a time penalty up to the judges discretion.
Equipment allowed:
Chalk, grip shirt, hard and/or soft belt, knee & elbow sleeves, wrist wraps. Shoes are required.
Not allowed:
Strongman corp grip shirts, tacky or any sticky substance
- Max Log Press
Single platform
Wessels rule, rising bar. 3 attempts, miss one and you’re out. 1 minute to complete your attempt. Athletes will be asked to give their first attempt log weight at weigh ins. For your first attempts, athletes will be called out in the order of your log press weights and your walk out song will be played as you enter the arena, so take your time, do a lil' strut, pose for the camera.
Athletes will be given a down call for the rep to count. Must complete full lockout of knees, hips, elbows, feet together, and head through.
After ALL first attempts, the logs will reset accordingly, and second attempts will start, where wessels rules, rising bar comes into play. No one will do their second attempt until everyone has done their first attempt (like powerlifting). This is a little different than how wessels rules, rising bar generally works. Athletes will wait in the wings for their next desired attempts, where they will then jump in for 2nd & 3rd attempts accordingly.
Novice women & teens will be on a 10 inch log that weighs 66 lbs empty (we're rounding down to 65 for weight sheets). Light weights, Middle weights, and Masters will be on a 10 inch titan log that weighs 75 lbs empty. Heavy weights and above will be on a 12 inch log that weighs 100 empty. The jumps will be 5 lbs increments.
Equipment allowed:
Chalk, grip shirt, hard and/or soft belt, knee & elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, any kind of shoes.
Not allowed:
Strongman corp grip shirts, tacky or any sticky substance
- Hammer Throw
Throw the hammer as far as you can, any way you’d like. Athletes will get 3 attempts to achieve the furthest distance. If the athlete crosses over the throwing circle, it will count as a foul and the attempt will not be counted. The implement used is a Thor's hammer kettlebell.
Equipment allowed:
Chalk, grippy gloves (like moving or football gloves), grip shirt, hard and/or soft belt, knee & elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, any kind of shoes.
Not allowed:
Strongman corp grip shirts, tacky (seems like a good way to rip your arm off though)
- Deadlift for Reps
This will be head to head! Each athlete will start standing at the bar and will be given an “Athletes ready, set, go” command to start. Athletes will be given time to strap in before time starts. Complete as many reps as possible in 1 minute. Athletes must complete full lockout and will get a down call from the judges. Reps will be taken away if the down call is rushed or full lockout is not completed.
Equipment allowed:
Chalk, hard and/or soft belt, knee sleeves, wrist wraps, figure 8’s, straps, any kind of shoes or no shoes, but must wear at least socks.
Not allowed:
Tacky or any sticky substance, deadlift suits or briefs.
- Stone over bar
This will be head to head over a 42” bar. The athletes in last place will be first to start. Elimination style. One athlete will pass the stone over to the other, and back until failure. If one athlete fails out, the other athlete may choose to do additional reps over the bar to secure more points. The benefit of being in first place going into this event means you go last, knowing how many reps everyone else has already completed. Athletes must return their rep within 1 minute or it will be considered a failed rep.
There will be a tacky clean up area outside in the rocks with methods of removal provided. If anyone removes tacky in bathrooms or anywhere else, it could result in a zero of this event.
Equipment allowed:
Tacky, grip shirt, hard and/or soft belt, knee sleeves, any kind of shoes, and shoes are required.
Not allowed:
Strongman corp grip shirts, chalk.
- Tie Breaker
Mystery endurance event!
