Vengeance of the Valkyries II

*US Strongman, Inc. Nationals 2023 Qualifier

Weigh-Ins (no exceptions):

Friday 2/17/23: 1-4pm

Saturday 2/18/23: 8-9am

Athlete Meeting: 9am(Mandatory for all athletes)

Contest Time: 9:30am

Spectator fee: $15 (sold at door)

Mystery press  - announced 12/10!! 
Viking Press 

• Athlete will have 60s to press the implement as many reps as they can
• No jerking or double dips (message me if you need clarification on what that means).
• Judge will give down command when knees are locked, hips are through, elbows are locked and head is through.
• A no rep will be given for jerking, double dipping, dropping before getting down conmand.
• Allowed: chalk, wrist wraps, elbow sleeves, belts, knee sleeves
• Not allowed: tacky, straps, jerking, double dipping  
   

Frame Deadlift

• Athlete will have 60s to deadlift a frame for as many reps as they can.
• Athlete can strap in prior to beginning the lift
• The judge will give a down command once the athlete stands fully upright with the frame, knees locked, hips through and shoulders back.
• A no rep will be given for bouncing or if the athlete begins to descend prior to receiving the down command
• Allowed: chalk, straps, knee sleeves, soft or hard belts
• Not Allowed: tacky, deadlift suits

Seated Truck pull

• Athlete will be seated inside of a monster sled and will have the ability to push off the metal lip backwards if they wish
• Athlete will have 60s to pull a truck, via rope, to the finish line
• Athlete must be facing forward and seated
• Allowed: chalk, gloves, elbow and knee sleeves, belts
• Not allowed: tacky, grips on pants

Yoke series

• Athlete will have 60s to move three yokes from their starting line to the 50' line.
• Athlete must carry the yokes in sequential order, walking forwards and it must be on their back (no zercher or overhead)
• 5 second penalty for any purposeful sliding
• Time will be called once the front two feet of the third yoke cross the line
• Allowed: chalk, grip shirts, gloves, wrist, elbow and knee sleeves
• Not allowed: tacky

Last Man Standing Stones to Platform

• Athletes within each class will line up in reverse order of score (person in last place is first in line, and person in first place is last in line).
• Athlete will have 20s to load their class’ prescribed stone to the 48” platform. Once each competitor has either loaded their stone or dropped out then the stone will be replaced with the next heaviest stone in the series and athletes will move to the 52” platform. This will continue until athletes are unable to load any of the stones within the 20 seconds
• Athletes are scored based on reps. Each stone load is one rep.
• Allowed:  grip shirt, tacky towel and all other standard strongman supportive equipment
• Not allowed: tacky

**novice and masters will be combined if they do not have at least 5 in each subdivision 

**all weights are subject to change, athletes will be notified via iron podium communication as well as social media (FB event page, IG NJ Promoter page)
