  1. Log Press Ladder (3 logs)
  2. Max 15" Axle Tire Deadlift
  3. Husafell Stone Relay (2 Stones)
  4. Sandbag-Over- Bar
  5. Max Rolling Thunder Hold

Skull Smash is the title sponsor for this event and will generously provide the winner of each division with a bottle of their ammonia inhalant as a prize. In addition, Cerberus Strength USA will be providing a gift card and Impact Mouthguards will be providing a mouthguard for each division winner.

SPECTATOR INFORMATION

There will be a $10 admission fee for all spectators ages 13 and older. Children under 12 will be admitted for free. This entry fee will be CASH ONLY at the door on the day of the competition. There will not be any advanced ticket sales.

PARKING INFORMATION (PLEASE READ!)

Midwest Strength and Performance has a relatively small parking lot. It will fill up fast.

PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE PARKING LOT OF DuPAGE VACUUM, which is located adjacent to the gym (on the west side).

The good news is that there is a lot parking available in two lots near the venue. One is located directly adjacent to the gym (on the east side of Midwest Strength and Performance), BUT...you are not allowed to park in front of the gates on this property. Please do not park in front of the gates or block the gates in any way or you will risk being towed.

The really good news is that there is a vacant, out-of-business auto dealership just to the west of the gym with a ton of parking spaces. This lot is located just west of DuPage Vacuum. Remember, please DO NOT park in the lot for DuPage Vacuum. Instead, please park in the lot of the old car dealership.

I have posted videos on the Warpath Strength Facebook and Instagram pages if you want to see what I'm talking about.

WEIGH-INS

There will be weigh-ins from 10:30-11:30 a.m. and from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 1.

There will also be weigh-ins from 8-9 a.m. on Saturday, October 2 (the morning of the competition).

WARPATH STRENGTH SKULL SMASH CHALLENGE EVENT RULES

Log Press Ladder

  • Athletes will be required to clean and press three logs, from lightest to heaviest. The third and final (and heaviest log) should be cleaned once and then the athlete will press away as many reps as possible.
  • A successful rep will be counted once the athlete’s knees, hips, shoulders and elbows are all locked out and the athlete is clearly in control of the implement.
  • The athlete must wait for the down command from judge for lift to be counted.
  • There is a 60 second time limit for this event. Athlete with the most reps in 60 seconds wins.
  • Equipment allowed: Belt, knee and elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, chalk, gloves. BELTS MUST BE WORN WITH BUCKLES IN THE BACK.
  • Equipment NOT allowed: No grip shirts and absolutely no tacky of any kind (not from a jar, no spray, no towels, no tape).
  • We will use Slater True logs for the heavier men's weight classes/divisions.
  • Dropping the log from overhead will result in a zero for the event and possibly (very likely) expulsion from the competition. Please respect the equipment.

Max 15” Axle Deadlift

  • Athletes will have three (3) attempts to deadlift the most weight on a custom 7’ or 9’ axle bar (bar length will be dependent on the athlete’s division/weight class) loaded with truck tires and steel plates.
  • Athletes will have 60 seconds for each attempt and the athlete’s hands must remain outside his/her knees for each pull (no Sumo pulls will be permitted). Athletes will be allowed to hitch.
  • Athlete must wait for the “down” command for a successful rep to be counted. If the bar is dropped without the athlete being given a “down” command, the rep will not be counted.
  • The Wessels Rule (Rule of Three) will be in effect. If an athlete fails an attempt, you will not be allowed any subsequent attempts.
  • This will be a "rising bar" event. Weight jumps will be made in 20# increments from the minimum opening weight for all divisions/classes. Athletes must pay attention and listen for the weights being called out by the judge, timer and/or loaders. If you miss a weight, the bar will not be unloaded and the weight lowered.
  • Equipment allowed: Deadlift suits, belt, knee and elbow sleeves, knee and wrist wraps, wrist straps, chalk.
  • Equipment NOT allowed: No gloves, hook-grip straps and absolutely NO tacky of any kind (not from a jar, no spray, no towels, no tape).

Husafel Stone Relay

  • Athletes will carry two loadable, steel Husafel stones down a 40' course (straight, no turn) as quickly as possible. The athlete will pick and carry the first implement down the course, place it upright, return for the second implement, pick and carry it and place it upright at the finish line. Once the athlete’s hands come off the implement, time stops. Fastest time wins.
  • Athletes will be allowed two (2) drops.  If the athlete drops a 3rd time or cannot complete the course in :60 seconds, a distance will be recorded.
  • Only the implement must cross the finish line to complete course, BUT each Husafel stone MUST be place upright and remain upright at the finish line in order for the attempt to be counted.
  • Respect the equipment. Please DO NOT drop or throw the Husafel stone(s) across the finish line and DO NOT slam the implement down once it crosses the line.
  • Equipment allowed: Belt, knee and elbow sleeves, knee and wrist wraps, gloves, chalk.
  • Equipment NOT allowed: No grip shirts, no tape and no tacky of any kind (not from a jar, no spray can, no tacky towels, no tape).

Sandbag-Over-Bar

  • Athlete may start with his/her hands on TOP of the sandbag, but not underneath.
  • When the “Go” command is given, the athlete will load the sandbag over the crossbar of a yoke and a spotter will return it.  Athlete will have 60 seconds to load the sandbag for as many reps as possible.
  • The athlete may not use the crossbar of the yoke to push the sandbag over it. The athlete is only allowed to touch the sandbag.
  • The rep will only be counted once the sandbag has been loaded over the crossbar and has hit the ground. If time expires and the sandbag is resting on the yoke, or if the bag has not yet hit the ground when time expires, the rep will not be counted.
  • The height of the crossbar of the yoke will be 48” for all women and 52” for all men, regardless of weight class or division.
  • Equipment allowed: Belt, knee and elbow sleeves, knee and wrist wraps, wrist straps, gloves, tape, chalk. Grip shirts may be worn UNDERNEATH the event shirt.
  • Equipment NOT allowed: Absolutely no tacky of any kind (not from a jar, no spray, no towels).

Max “Rolling Thunder” Hold for time

  • Athletes will have 60 seconds to attempt to pick and lock out an Iron Mind Rolling Thunder implement loaded to a set weight for each weight class.
  • Athletes are required to grab the implement in approximately its center and lift it with the handle approximately parallel to the ground. A thumbless grip is not permitted.
  • Any contact between the athlete’s hand and the non-revolving portion of the handle is not allowed. Other than incidental contact, the hand and the implement must not touch the body before the lift is completed. Dragging the hand or handle up the leg is not allowed.
  • Time will start once the athlete’s arm/elbow is locked out with the handle/implement, which they will hold for as long as possible.
  • Athletes must fully straighten up (back erect, legs and hips locked out) before time will start, and once standing straight, the athlete will hold the implement for as long as possible. Longest time wins.
  • Equipment allowed: Belt, knee and elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, chalk (however, no chalk may be applied directly to the implement.
  • Equipment NOT allowed: No gloves, no tape and no tacky of any kind (not from a jar, no spray, no towels, no tape) will be allowed.
