This is going to be the biggest strength expo of the year in west texas. Come out and test your strength and see if you can punch your ticket to USS Nationals 2026! Lone Star Strength Co always brings you the best shows on the biggest stages. So come out and prove that you are the Best in the West!

Rules Meeting at 8am. Warm-ups to follow shortly after.

THIS IS A NATIONAL QUALIFIER. YOU MUST HAVE A USS STRONGMAN MEMBERSHIP TO COMPETE. NO EXCEPTIONS! PLEASE HAVE YOUR MEMBERSHIP READY BEFORE WEIGH-INS! 

THIS IS A NO REFUND SHOW! 

All athletes will receive a shirt for participating.  

This is part of an expo and will include other events such as bodybuilding, powerlifting, arm sports, knight fighting, and much more! 

 

IF THE EQUIPMENT IS NOT LISTED UNDER THE ALLOWED SECTION PER EACH EVENT, DO NOT COME UP AND ASK TO USE IT.

GRIP SHIRTS/SHORTS ARE ALLOWED FOR ANY EVENT. NO DEADLIFT SUITS, BRIEF'S, OR COMPRESSION SHORTS ALLOWED. PLEASE REFER TO EACH EVENT FOR OTHER EQUIPMENT ALLOWED/PROHIBITED. 

DEPENDING ON EVENTS, SOME WILL RUN 1 LANE, SOME WILL RUN 2. I WILL TRY TO GET THE REMAINING EQUIPMENT NEEDED TO RUN 2 LANES ON EVERY EVENT. WILL KEEP THIS PAGE UP TO DATE ONCE NOTIFIED, SO PLEASE CHECK BACK. 

 

EVENT 1: MONSTER DUMBBELL PRESS

Upon the judges go command, athletes will have 60 seconds to clean and press the dumbbell overhead for reps. Athletes may start with hands on the implement. The dumbbell will be picked up from the floor. Cleaned and pressed overhead, then returned to the floor each rep. Judges will give a down command once the dumbbell controlled and overhead in a full locked position. Knees, hips and elbows will have to locked out to receive the rep. If you lower the dumbbell for any reason before the down command, you will not receive the rep. Athletes may start with two hands on the implement to clean and position on the shoulder. Once in position to press the athletes opposite hand will need to be off the dumbbell and away from the athletes body before the press begins. After the athlete has pressed the dumbbell, they must control the drop to the crash pad. Dumbbell must touch the ground before the next rep. Athletes may switch hands between reps. If time is low, the athlete will may complete a final attempt at a rep if the dumbbell leaves the ground. Once the dumbbell has left the ground and touches the ground at any point after time has expired, the rep will not count. The athlete will be allowed to finish the rep after it has left the ground and time has expired.  

Equipment allowed: Grip Shirt, Wrist wraps, elbow sleeves, knee sleeves, hard belt, soft belt, chalk.

All other equipment not listed is prohibited. 

 

EVENT 2: MAX MAMMOTH BAR DEADLIFT

Upon the judges go command, athletes will have 30 seconds to complete a max rep. Athletes may start strapped in or hands on the bar. A completed rep will include hips and knees locked and standing upright fully. Hitching is allowed. Once the athlete is in the full upright locked out position the judge will give a down command. If you do not get a down command, you will not receive a rep but you may use the remaining time to try again. When time expires, the bar must be off the ground for the rep to count. This will be auction style. Women's Bar will start at 200lbs and make 20lb jumps. Men's bar will start at 310lb and make 30lb jumps. Women will go on one bar and men on the other. When one lane ends we will double up the remaining athletes to save time. Athletes will have 3 attempts to hit their desired weight. If the athlete misses an attempt, or used all 3 attempts, they are done with the event. Scores will be taken by the last weight completed. 

Equipment allowed: Wrist wraps, elbow sleeves, knee sleeves, lifting straps, hard belt and soft belt, chalk, shoes optional.

All other equipment not listed is prohibited. 

 

EVENT 3: AXLE WAGON WHEEL SQUAT

Upon the judges go command, athletes will have 90 seconds to unrack the weight, take position over the boxes and squat down and touch the box/pad below and return to the upright locked position for as many reps as possible. Axles and wagon wheels will be used. Touch and go is allowed. BOTH SIDES MUST TOUCH THE BOX/PAD AT THE SAME TIME FOR THE REP TO COUNT. Athletes must wait for a down command before beginning the downward motion of the squat. No up command will be given. When finished athletes may leave the axle resting on the boxes or re-rack it. Measurements for box height will be taken at weigh-ins.

All other equipment not listed is prohibited. 

 

EVENT 4: HUSAFELL AND YOKE CARRY

Upon the judges go command, athletes will have 60 seconds to pick up a husafell sandbag and carry it down 50ft, turn around a cone the come back to the starting line. Once the entire body has crossed the start line, the athlete will drop the bag and then pick up the yoke and carry it down 50ft, set it down, get back back under it and take it back from where it was picked up from. Only the front of the yoke needs to cross the halfway and finish line. Time will end once the front of the yoke has crossed the finish line. If the athlete does not complete the course, total distance will be taken. Unlimited drops for either implement.

Equipment allowed: Wrist wraps, knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, hard belt, soft belt, chalk.

All other equipment not listed is prohibited. 

 

EVENT 5: FARMERS HOLD

Upon the judges go command the athlete will pick up the handles and hold them for as long as possible. Weight listed is per hand. Thumbs must be over the handle. NO HOOK GRIP ALLOWED. Time will end when either side of either implement touches the ground. 

Equipment allowed: Wrist wraps, knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, hard belt, soft belt, chalk, shoes are optional

All other equipment not listed is prohibited.
