Event | Event Rules *for all events, no tacky of any kind allowed |
Conan’s Wheel | Athlete can start with arms under implement and will carry the Conan's Wheel implement as far as possible with no time limit. The implement must be carried in front of the body, and may NOT rest on a belt or on the top of the shoulders. Belts to be turned so buckle is to the back of the athlete. The attempt ends when ANY part of the implement touches the ground. There are NO exceptions to this rule. Farthest distance wins. Athlete can carry the implement in either direction. Gear allowed: grip shirts, wrist wraps, gloves, elbow/knee sleeves, belts, chalk |
Object Toss | Athlete will be given a slam ball to throw backwards over their head for max distance Athlete will be given 2 back to back attempts – farthest distance will be recorded for score. Both feet must stay behind line for each throw. Ball must be thrown using both hands. Judge will record the distance where the ball lands, not including any roll. Judges/volunteers will make their best attempt to immediately mark the landing spot. Judge’s decision is final. Gear allowed: wrist wraps, elbow/knee sleeves, belts, chalk, grip shirts, gloves |
Max Log Clean & Press | 10” log for women; 12” log for men – 3 lanes Women – starting weight 65#; Men – starting weight abt 100# All classes in each lane will compete together for this event and it will be a rising bar. Weights will be called out in increments (10# jumps for women; 20# jumps for men) – those wanting to attempt the weight called will signal/line-up, if more than one athlete. Athlete is responsible to jump in at the weight called. The weight on the log will NOT go down, if missed. Each athlete will get a maximum of 3 attempts. 60 second time limit per weight attempt. Time starts when hands touch the log. If you miss your first attempt at a weight, you may try again as long as your time has not expired. Once a lift is failed, the athlete is done. If you fail to get a down command on your first attempt, you will receive a zero for the event. Highest successful weight will be recorded for score. Strict press, push press, jerk press allowed – rep will not count until feet are together and control shown. Athlete must wait for a down command from the judge. No resting on head. Log dropped from a fully locked out position will result in a no rep for that attempt. Gear allowed: grip shirts, wraps, elbow/knee sleeves, belts, chalk |
Deadlift Ladder | 60 seconds time limit; We will run 3 lanes for this event. Athlete will start behind a line and must lift each bar in order from lightest to heaviest. The final bar will be lifted for as many reps as possible in remaining time. Straps may be used, but fingers must remain in contact with the bar. Athlete must hold the bar in a locked out position until the judge gives the down command. Athlete must successfully complete each lift before moving onto the next heavier bar. No bouncing the barbell off the ground. Touch and go will be allowed for the final bar – but if weights do not fully touch ground on both sides, judge reserves the right to give a no rep. Event will be recorded as number of reps (first 2 bars are each 1 rep) If the first bar cannot be successfully lifted, athlete will receive a zero. Shins must be covered; shoes or socks must be worn. Suits or multi-ply briefs are NOT allowed Gear allowed: elbow/knee sleeves, wraps, chalk, belt, straps |
Keg Press into Sandbag to Shoulder for Reps | 60 seconds time limit; We will run 3 lanes for this event. Athlete starts with hands off the keg. Keg and sandbag will start in an upright position. Keg must be pressed successfully before moving onto the sandbag to shoulder. Athlete must wait for down command from the judge on all reps for keg or sandbag. For the sandbag to shoulder, athlete will clean and shoulder bag for each rep and will not receive a down command until the bag is fully on shoulder and one hand removed to show control. Bag can be dropped in front or behind athlete after a down command is given. If worn, hard belts must be turned backwards for sandbag to shoulder Event will be scored as total reps (Keg counts as 1 rep); If Keg cannot be pressed successfully, the athlete will receive a zero. Gear allowed: grip shirts, wraps, elbow/knee sleeves, chalk, gloves, belts |
