Louisiana’s Strongest Man Rules 2025:

This Show IS a USS National’s Qualifier!!

The Atlas Strength Shop will be hosting the 2025 Louisiana’s Strongest Man/ Woman on Saturday May 3rd at 10:00am and the Crowne Plaza In Baton Rouge.  As will all USS Shows this will be a Nationals Qualifier. There is a hotel that shares a parking lot with the venue and parking will be ample. 

Weigh ins will be at the Atlas Strength Shop on May 2nd from 7:30 to 10:30am and again from 5:00-6:30pm.  

We‘ll have weigh ins the day of on May 3rd at 8am

NOTES:  If your weight class is empty it will be combined with another weight class.  Please don’t be that person that waits to see if anyone is going to sign up because that’s what everyone else is doing too.  Sign up EARLY to get an advantageous spot in the first event.

If your weight class only weight division (Women’s Novice or Masters) then I will open up multiple wight classes with enough sign ups.

REMEMBER!!! USS Memberships expire at the end of the year!  You need a 2025 Membership for this show so wait until after the 1st of January to purchase! 

Event 1:

Overhead Medley:

At the Start Command, each competitor will have :60 seconds to clean and press an Axle, a Circus Dumbbell, and then a Log for reps.  All reps will be lifted from the floor to an overhead position and will not be complete until given a down command from the judge.   You must clean each rep with the Log.  A drop from overhead disrespect of equipment or any other blatant safety issues will result in an immediate zero in the event.

The axle will be from 13” and the Log will be from Cerberus Log Crash Pads

Equipment Allowed; Knee Sleeves, , Knee Wraps, Elbow Sleeves, Soft Belt, Hard Belt, Grip Shirt, Wrist Wraps

Event 2:

Stix and Stone Husafell Carry; Max Distance:

At the Start Command, each competitor will pick the stone and carry it as far as they can with turn around points every 50 feet.  Every weight class using a 210 stone and above will use the Husafell Replica’s from Stix and Stone.  We will also include a point system.

Get air under the stone = 1 Point

Lap the Stone = 2 Points

Stone to Chest = 3 Points

Any Combination counts (ex. Attempt 1 to lap, Attempt 2 to Lap, Attempt 3 Air Underneath =5 Points)

Any amount of distance beats point combinations

Equipment Allowed: Chalk, Knee Sleeves, Elbow Sleeves, Wrist Wraps, Belt, Soft Belt, TACKY TOWLS ONLY

Event 3:

Hammer Hold:

At the Start Command, each competitor will lower their hammer to shoulder height with their arms fully extended and hold it in that position for as long as possible.  The athlete will receive ONE warning when their arms drop out of position.  If they do not correct their position or fall out of position again their time will be terminated.

Event 4:

Sandbag to Shoulder; 3 Bag Series :60 seconds:

At the Start Command, each competitor will have :60 seconds to pick their bags from the floor and lift it to their shoulder in order from lightest to heaviest.  The athlete must release their non shouldered hand from the bag to show control before receiving the down command from their judge.

Event 5:

Car Deadlift; Max Reps :60 seconds:

At the Start Command, each competitor will have :60 seconds to deadlift their vehicle as many times as possible.  A Rep WILL NOT COUNT without being given a down command by the judge.  A Rep WILL NOT COUNT if the 60 seconds expire prior to being given a down command. 

Before you ask me the weight or type of car note that there’s no actual way to give an accurate number and it would be a guess at best.  We’re looking to make the weight appropriately heavy for the weight class.   Novice women MAY have a frame deadlift to avoid zeroes.  Handle height is 16”
