WELCOME TO BATTLE AT THE BRANCH WARREN 2!!!

Last year was an amazing battle that featured some awesome events, and even better people!  We are so excited to bring you another incredible contest this year!

This event is conducted inside the NRG Center in Houston, during the Branch Warren Classic bodybuilding show, so there will be many spectators and we will be INSIDE WITH THE AIR CONDITIONING!!!

If you need a time outside of these allotted times, I will do my best to work with you, but due to the hectic nature of the weekend, there are not many times I can move around.

MAX CIRCUS DUMBBELL PRESS

This is a MAX EVENT

Each competitor will be allowed 3 attempts.

Weight jumps are in 5 pound increments. 

Competitor can miss an attempt and still make another attempt, that attempt must be the same or heavier than the last attempt.

If there are no other competitors attempting that weight and it is missed, and the competitor chooses to go again, they will be allowed 2 minutes prior to attempting again.  I would love to give more time, but we are on a VERY strict schedule at the NRG center.

RULES:

1. Competitors will announce their opening weight directly after the rules meeting in the morning.
2. Weight jumps are 5 pound increments, unless going for a state or national record, which the competitor is responsible for providing evidence of record attempts.
3. Competitor will be allowed 30 seconds for each attempt and can make the attempt as many times as possible within the 30 seconds.
4. Competitor will start behind the dumbbell with hands off the implement.  Once given the command to proceed the time will start and they may proceed to their attempt.
5. If the competitor cleans the dumbbell to their shoulder before the 30 seconds are up, they will be allowed to finish their attempt.
6. An attempt will be considered complete one the dumbbell is overhead, arm is locked out with elbow straight, head is forward and looking at judge, and feet are stable and in line with another.
7. Split jerk, bent press, or any other method of getting the dumbbell overhead are allowed.

EQUIPMENT

-Elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, soft belt, hard belt, knee sleeves, chalk are all allowed.

NOT ALLOWED

-Wraps of any kind, double sleeves, tacky or sticky substance of any kind, double belts.

DEADLIFT MEDLEY

This will be done with 3 bars in a row, an Axle bar, a Power bar, and a Deadlift bar.

RULES:

1. Competitors will start on the edge of rubber matting and may approach the first bar once the time has started.
2. Competitors will have 60 seconds to complete all 3 lifts.
3. Bars MUST be done in ORDER.
4. Once the competitor reaches the final bar, it will be done for REPS.  
5. Rep will be called complete once the lifter is standing up straight, hips are forward, knees are locked and there is no more motion.
6. If figure 8s are used fingers must remain wrapped around the bar at all times.
7. Competitors may use any type of grip that they wish including mixed grip, straps, figure 8's, or double overhand if they are feeling froggy.

EQUIPMENT

-Sleeves, wrist wraps, straps, soft belt, hard belt, chalk are all allowed.

NOT ALLOWED

-Suits, briefs, tacky or stick substances of any kind, wraps.

HEAD TO HEAD LOADING RACE

We are running this one back this year!  There will be 2 platforms, 30 feet from the competitors, with various random objects of various weights on the ground. 

On go, competitors may pick any of the objects off of the ground and carry them to the platforms to load.  Each object is 1 point, NO SPLIT TIMES, but there will be a final time if all objects are loaded.

RULES:

1. There will be 3-5 items to pick up, carry 30 feet, and place on a platform in 60 seconds.
2. Competitors will stand behind a marked area until given the signal to go.
3. Competitor will start on the outside and work their way inside as they see fit.
4. Items will include: sandbags, stones, anvil, kegs, and a mystery object.

EQUIPMENT

-Sleeves, wrist wraps, straps, soft belt, hard belt, chalk are all allowed.

BELTS MUST BE WORN WITH BUCKLE TO THE REAR.

NOT ALLOWED

-Suits, briefs, tacky or stick substances of any kind, wraps.

YOKE TO FARMERS CARRY

Competitors will run a yoke and farmers handles 30 feet to the other side of the matting.

Weight is combined hands for the FARMER CARRY

RULES:

1. Competitors will have their yoke and farmers handles next to each other on the competition floor.
2. Competitor may chose which item to start with and carry to the other side of the matting (30 feet).
3. Competitor will start on the edge of the matting, once given the command by the judge or emc to begin, they will approach the item of choice, pick it up and carry it to the other end of the matting, sprint back, and carry the last object to the other end.
4. Competitors will have 60 seconds to compete this activity.

EQUIPMENT

-Sleeves, wrist wraps, soft belt, hard belt, grip shirts, and chalk are all allowed.

NOT ALLOWED

-Suits, briefs, tacky or substances of any kind, wraps, or straps.

MYSTERY EVENT

FINGALS FINGERS!!!

Competitors will pick the finger up from the ground, hoist it overhead, and walk it up with their hands until it flips over to the other side.  One flip is one rep.  Competitors will have 60 seconds to complete as many reps as possible.

RULES:

1. Competitor will start standing over the pole, but not touching it.
2. On the command of go, competitor can begin the movement.
3. Competitor will give every reasonable effort to inform spotters if they cannot complete or are about to fail a rep.
4. If competitor drops the finger from directly overhead because of any other reason than failure/fatigue, they will receive a ZERO for the event.

EQUIPMENT

-All reasonable equipment allowed on this event.

NOT ALLOWED

-Suits, briefs, tacky, or straps allowed.

If there are not 3 competitors in a given open weight class it will be combined with a similar class, for example, MWM 231- and MWM 200-.
