EVENT 1: MAX AXLE CLEAN AND PRESS AWAY!

That's right, athletes will be going head-to-head to see who can lock out the most reps on the axle within 60 grueling seconds. Remember, this is a PRESS AWAY event, so keep that bar moving! Belt cleans are in, tacky is OUT. Let's see those overhead monsters!

Check out the full event details below:

* Clean and press axle for max reps in 60 seconds.
* PRESS AWAY event - no need to return to the floor between presses from the front rack.
* Dropping to the floor requires a full clean for the next rep.
* Belt cleans ALLOWED.
* Full lockout (knees, hips, shoulders, elbows) and the head judge's down command are required for a valid rep.
* Start with hands on the axle, pick from the floor.
* Scored on maximum PRESSES (cleans alone don't count!).

* Allowed Equipment: Belts, Wrist wraps, chalk, elbow sleeves, knee sleeves, grip shirts.
* NOT Allowed: Tacky, Tacky Towel, or anything else not listed.

Novice/LWW - 100#

MWW - 120#

HWW - 140#

Event 2: The Iron Grip - Frame Deadlift Challenge

Prepare for a true test of raw strength and grip endurance in Event 2: The Frame Deadlift! Athletes will step up to the frame and battle the weight for maximum repetitions within a grueling 60-second time limit. This isn't just about lifting heavy; it's about controlled power and strategic stamina.

The Rules of Engagement:

  • * The Lift: A straightforward deadlift. Lift the frame from the ground until lockout (standing tall with shoulders back and knees locked) and return it to the ground.
  • * Command & Control: Each successful repetition requires strict adherence to judge commands.
  • * The judge will issue an "Up" command to initiate the lift. Wait for this command before breaking the ground.
  • * The judge will issue a "Down" command once the lift is locked out. Control the frame back to the ground after receiving this command.
  • * Warning System: A single warning will be given if the bar is lifted before the "Up" command or dropped before the "Down" command.
  • * Second Offense: Failure to wait for the command on a subsequent rep will result in that rep being disqualified.
  • * No "Eddie Halls": Absolutely no dropping the frame after the "Down" command. The implement must be controlled to the ground. Failure to control the descent will result in a no rep.
  • * Strap Savvy: Straps are permitted, including figure 8 straps. However, there's a crucial catch:
  • * Straps must be tightly secured around the axle.
  • * Your hands must be actively wrapped around and holding the axle.
  • * Long, loose figure 8 straps where only your fingertips are touching the bar will not be considered a valid lift. The intent is to enhance grip, not bypass it entirely.
  • * Pick Height: The starting height of the frame (from the ground to the bottom of the implement) is To Be Determined (TBD), but will likely be in the range of 15-18 inches. Stay tuned for the final announcement as the competition draws closer.
  • * Equipment Allowed: Strategize your gear wisely!
  • * Deadlift suits OR deadlift briefs (not both).
  • * One hard belt and one soft belt.
  • * Elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, wrist straps, and chalk.
  • * Knee wraps OR knee sleeves (not both).
  • * Equipment NOT Allowed: Leave these at home!
  • * Gloves.
  • * Hook-grip straps.
  • * Absolutely NO tacky of any kind. This includes tacky from a jar, spray tacky, tacky towels, and tacky tape. Any use of tacky will result in disqualification from the event.

  • MWW - 315
  • HWW - 405

Men's Weight:

Event 3: Sandbag Carry into Arm Over Arm Pull

Get ready to test your strength and endurance in this grueling two-part event!

The Challenge: Athletes will begin behind the designated ATV. At the sound of the start signal, you will sprint to the ATV bed, load three sandbags, securely close the tailgate, and then sprint down the course to the waiting rope. Once you reach the rope, you will immediately begin an arm-over-arm pull to move the ATV a distance of 30 feet.

Objective: This is a timed event. The athlete who completes the sandbag carry and the 30-foot arm-over-arm pull in the fastest time will be the winner of this event.

Scoring:

  • * Your official time will stop when the front of the ATV crosses the designated 30-foot finish line.
  • * If an athlete does not complete the full 30-foot pull, their score will be determined by the distance the ATV was pulled.
  • Allowed Equipment:
  • * Knee sleeves
  • * Elbow sleeves
  • * Wrist wraps
  • * Chalk
  • * Belts (one soft belt AND one hard belt are permitted)
  • Important Restriction:
  • * ABSOLUTELY NO TACKY IS ALLOWED FOR THIS EVENT. Any use of tacky will result in disqualification from this event.

Event 4: The Iron Grip Gauntlet - Frame Hold

Prepare for the ultimate test of static strength and unwavering grip! Event 4 of the Beast of the Southeast strongman competition will push your limits as you battle the unforgiving Frame Hold.

The Challenge:

At the judge's command, you will take your grip on the designated frame implement. Once you are set, the judge will give the "Lift" command, and the clock will start the moment you reach the locked-out position.

Your mission is simple: hold the frame for as long as humanly possible until your grip can no longer endure. This is a true test of raw grip strength, mental fortitude, and sheer determination.

Key Rules:

  • * Judge's Commands: You must wait for the judge's "Take Grip" and "Lift" commands.
  • * Starting Position: The clock begins only when you are in a fully locked-out position with the frame held off the ground.
  • * Grip Failure: The time will stop when your grip gives out and the frame touches the ground.
  • * No Aids Allowed: Absolutely no hooks, straps, or gloves are permitted for this event. This is a pure test of your natural grip strength.
  • * Winning Condition: The competitor who holds the frame for the longest duration will be declared the winner of this event.
  • Important Note:
