Big Tiny’s Strongman Classic III

Big Tiny is back with the third rendition of his strongman classic.
Hosted at Sonrise Fitness in Etowah, the strongman classic boasts one of the best views for a contest in Western North Carolina. This being the third year is sure to prove to be the best show yet.
Strongman Corporation Membership is required for all competitors - SCMEMBERSHIP
Winners of the open division classes will be receiving an invite to the 2026 Strongman Corporation Nationals.

Weigh-ins : Friday October 17 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. or Saturday October 18 from 7:30-8:00 a.m.
Rules meeting at 8:30 a.m. All athletes must attend the rules meeting in order to participate in the event.
Events
Circus Dumbbell Press
- 60-Second Time Limit: One attempt only within the 60-second limit.
- Start Position: Begin behind the dumbbell on the floor and hands off until the judge’s command.
- Lifting Technique:
- Two hands are allowed to clean the dumbbell to the shoulder, but only one hand may press overhead.
- Press variations allowed include strict press, push press, push/power jerk, and split jerk.
- Non-lifting hand must not touch the lifting arm, hand, or dumbbell during the press.
- Each rep must be cleaned from the floor before pressing.
- Control & Commands:
- Wait for the judge’s “down” command for the rep to count, with feet square, elbows locked, and head through.
- Dumbbell must be lowered in a controlled manner to the floor or onto pads. Dropping off pads results in a no rep.
- Dumbbell cannot rest on the athlete’s head.
- Athlete must remain upright with feet shoulder-width apart for the “down” command.
- Equipment Allowed: Belt, chalk, sleeves, knee wraps, grip shirts.
- Equipment Not Allowed: Tacky, spray tack, elbow wraps, Belts cannot be built up with towels, etc.
- Dumbbell Specs: Plate-loadable Circus Dumbbells – 12” for men and 10” for women.
- Good Lift: A clean to shoulder, single-hand overhead press with full lockout, stationary legs, and control over the lift.
Lever Deadlift
- 60-Second Time Limit: Athlete has 60 seconds to complete as many of the 6 lifts as possible.
- Start Position: Begin with hands off the bar standing over top of the apparatus. Essentially, in the first deadlift position.
- Lifting Technique:
- Double overhand lifts only
- No Sumo style lifts allowed
- Each rep must be fully locked out and controlled back to the ground before moving to the next one.
- Control & Commands:
- Wait for the judge’s “down” command for the rep to count, with feet square, fully erect spine, and hips through.
- Apparatus must be lowered in a controlled manner to the floor Dropping apparatus results in a no rep.
- Athlete must remain upright for the “down” command.
- Equipment Allowed: Single Belt, chalk, sleeves, knee sleeves, Figure 6 Steps.
- Equipment Not Allowed: Tacky, spray tack, elbow wraps, knee wraps Double Belts, figure 8 straps. Suits or briefs.
- Lever Specs: 12 foot 6x6 with hooks every 12 inches. Plates are loaded on top of the apparatus and implement is lifted from the ground.
- Good Lift: Athlete, starting from the floor, with a double overhand grip, lifts the wait to a fully upright and locked out position. Down common to be given by the judge in order to be considered a good lift.
Hercules Hold
- For Time
- Start Position: Begin with hands on the handles at shoulder height and arms extended. Weight will be supported until the judge says go. Once the signal is given the weight will pull away from the athlete,
- Lifting Technique:
- Hook grip is allowed for the event
- There are no re-dos. If a bad grip is taken and the athlete drops immediately, they will receive a 0 for the event.
- Control & Commands:
- Judge will give a clear start command for the athlete.
- No headphones during this event.
- Equipment Allowed: Belt, chalk, sleeves.
- Equipment Not Allowed: Tacky, spray tack, elbow wraps, sticky substances of any kind. Hooks, straps, gloves etc.
- Good Lift: Hold the implement as long as you can.
Atlas Stone Load Ladder
- 60-Second Time Limit: 5 Stones to be loaded in under 60 seconds.
- Start Position: Begin behind the first stone until the judge's lift command. Men lift to 52" women lift to 48"
- Control & Commands:
- Wait for the judge’s lift command to begin.
- Time stops when the last stone hits the mat
- Athlete must go in ascending order of the weight of the stones
- Equipment Allowed: Belt, chalk, sleeves, duct tape (sticky side in)
- Equipment Not Allowed: Tacky, spray tack, elbow wraps, alien boogers, marinara sauce, or any other sticky substance you might come up with.
- Stone specs: Depending on weight class the diameter of the stones will vary fro 14" to 22"
- Good Lift: 5 stones are loaded over the yoke bar and reach the other side successfully before time expires.
Mystery Event
- 60-Second Time Limit: Athletes might have 60 seconds or more or less.
- Start Position: Athlete will begin with their hands firmly placed on the implement that they are lifting, or carrying, or throwing, or eating, or dancing with.
- Control & Commands:
- The judge will be blindfolded and spun in circle before judging this event.
- The lift command will probably happen
- Athlete must complete the event
- Equipment Allowed: Most things except for tacky and sticky substances.
- Equipment Not Allowed: None of those fancy deadlift suits, especially the bright orange ones. Grip shirts. Pliers. Cowboy boots. Horses.
- Specs: Depending on weight class you'll find out at the rules meeting
- Good Lift: When the judge deems it so.
- ALL INFO WILL BE GIVEN AT THE RULES MEETING THE MORNING OF THE COMPETITION.
