Virginia Beach Iron Gym and FADE Promotions has teamed up to present the first annual Iron War!
Come out to this Grand Opening event on Saturday, June 18, and challenge yourself to the "Big 3" for reps! Most reps wins a prize package for 1st place! Spectator tickets available at sign up for $5 per person, or at the door for $10. Kids are free.
Women-
2 classes, lightweight athletes under 150 lbs, heavyweight 151+
Squat 105% for max reps in 30 seconds
Bench Press 50% bodyweight for max reps in 45 seconds
Deadlift 150% bodyweight for max reps in 30 seconds
Men-
2 classes, lightweight athletes under 220 lbs, heavyweight 221+
Squat 150% bodyweight for max reps in 30 seconds
Bench Press bodyweight for max reps in 45 seconds
Deadlift 200% bodyweight for max reps in 30 seconds

Winners: Lightweight and Heavyweight male and female, Overall Male and Female. Winners determined by points (reps)
Tiebreaker: overhead press for reps, same weight as bench press. Any style press except split jerk allowed. Do not drop from top, controlled down.
SQUAT
Athlete starts in the rack with the barbell unracked, the judge will yell "start" and the athlete will begin squatting for reps. Judge will count only the reps that hit parallel depth. Athlete may not rerack the barbell and start again once the time begins. DO NOT ditch the barbell off the back at any point, intentional bar ditching is grounds for disqualification. For the safety of our spotters and the athletes, you must stay with your weight and work with the spotters to safely rerack. Most reps in 30 seconds wins.
BENCH
Athlete will set up their usual bench position and unrack the barbell, the judge will yell "start", and the athlete will bench a many reps as possible in 45 seconds. Judge will only count the reps that touch the chest and fully lock out at the top. No Spoto style reps allowed. Spotters can provide a lift out of the rack and will ensure a safe rerack.
DEADLIFT
Belts, straps, shoes or no shoes allowed. All athletes are required to wear deadlift socks or pants that cover the shins. No deadlift suits. No hooks allowed. Figure 8 straps and all other traditional straps allowed. Athlete may strap in to the barbell before start. NO SUMO DEADLIFT ALLOWED. Max reps in 30 seconds wins.
