Red River's Strongest Man & Woman II

$75

Red River, NM

Prize money will be prorated based upon the number of athletes in your class. If you beat more people, you earn more money. Last year we gave away $1,400 in cash prizes. This year we have over $2,000 committed, and the number is still growing!

Cash Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each event.

Cash Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in overall standings.

Trophies for 1st place only.

2025 USS National's Invite for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each class. (The MW and LW classes are combined, as are the HW and SHW classes. If you are a HW or LW and you podium, I will get you an invite for your correct class.)

Along with a competition shirt, athletes will also get Oktoberfest event shirts, food and beverage vouchers, and free admission for themselves and a companion for Red River's Oktoberfest. (Check the link and see the value!)

Weigh-Ins: Friday October 13th - 4:00pm-8:00pm. This is the ONLY time to weigh in. ALL athletes must weigh-in to complete the check-in process.  The athlete will get two shirts for this two day event. I don't care in what order you wear them, but one of those two shirts must be worn when competing (except for grip-shirt approved events).

Late Registrations: If you are a late registrant (i.e., you register after 10/4), I cannot guarantee that you will receive both an event shirt and a competition shirt.

Rules Meeting and Warmups: Our rules meeting will be at 9:30am, October 12th. We will be competing front and center, where many other events will take place. Warm up times, space, and equipment may be limited because other events are currently taking place. Prepare for that.

*Weights, times, and time limits are subject to change*

Depending on the number of total competitors, time limits may range from 60 seconds to 90 seconds. Get that cardio in.

Day 1 Events (October 12th)

La Salita's Keg Clean and Press (10-11am)

Most Reps Wins. :75 Time Limit. Athlete cannot touch keg until times begins. Keg will begin standing upright. The keg must be controlled to the crash pads. If the athlete does not drop the keg onto the designated crash pads, then their run is done and their score will be recorded. Every rep must be cleaned from the ground. Wait for your "Down" commands. If you do not get a command, the rep will not count.

Allowed – Belts, Wraps, Sleeves, Chalk, Grip Shirts, Gloves

Not Allowed – Belt build-up, Tacky, Straps, Suits, Tree-topping, SC Grip Shirts

Gold Hill Gym's Farmer’s Carry (1:30-2:30pm)

Farthest Distance Wins. :75 Time Limit. Two safe zones will be set 30’ apart. The athlete will pick up the farmer’s handles and carry them from one safe zone to the other. And repeat, and repeat. If the farmer’s handles are dropped outside of the safe zones, the athlete’s run is done and their distance will be measured. For an example of how this will look, see this video WSM 2020. Safe zones will be horse stall mats, and non-safe zone in between will be grass. So there will be a lip. Make sure you plan your footwear accordingly.

Allowed – Chalk, Belts, Sleeves, Wraps

Not Allowed – Straps, Suites, Gloves, Tacky, Dropping weight out of the safe zones

Day 2 Events (October 13th)

Wilson's Woodyard's Deficit Axle DL (11am-12pm)

Most Reps Wins. :75 Time Limit. Athlete will be standing on 4” platform. The axle bar is 2” in diameter. The Athlete will be given a chance to strap in before time starts. If the athlete needs to unstrap to breathe for a little bit and wants to strap back in, they are free to do so. But the :75 time limit will continue to run. Wait for your "Down" commands. If you do not get a command, the rep will not count. No Bouncing, dead-stop reps only.

Allowed – Straps, Chalk, Belt, Sleeves, Wraps

Not Allowed – Tacky, Gloves, Suites, Touch-n-Go Reps, Bouncing

Red River Brewing Company's H2H Keg Load (2:30-3:30pm)

Most Reps Wins. Athletes will be facing one another on opposite sides of the yoke. They will load the Keg from one side to the other, where the other athlete is standing. They will continue to load the keg back and forth to one another, until someone fails. At which point, the next man up will take his place. Hands cannot be placed on the yoke to chest bump the keg over the loading height. Note: points will not be awarded based on who lasts the longest, but on who completes the most reps. Once the keg hits the ground, the athlete on that side will have only :15 to resend the keg to the other side.

Women – 49” Load

Men – 53” Load

Allowed - Belt, Wraps, Sleeves, Chalk, Grip Shirts, Gloves

Not Allowed - Belt-Build-Up, Tacky, Straps, Throwing the Keg, SC Grip Shirts
