Log Press:
Athlete will start behind the log, without their hands on it. On start command, athetes will have 60 seconds to get as many presses as possible, clean once and press away. Athlete will get a down command when their arms are fully locked out, head is forward, and their hips and knees are locked out with feet at least mostly parallel. Athletes may set the log down and rest and then re-clean within the time limit. No dropping the logs from full lockout, but you may drop it from chest height. Dropping from the top can result in losing your current rep, or a complete zero for the event.
Equipment allowed: wrist wraps, one pair of elbow sleeves, one pair of knee sleeves, chalk, up to 2 belts (1 hard, 1 soft), grip shirt, grip shorts
Equipment not allowed: multiple sleeves per joint, elbow or knee wraps, tacky or tacky towels, built up belts
Frame Carry:
Athletes will have 60 seconds to carry a frame 50 feet down, drop it, and carry it back 50 feet. Athletes may start with their hands on the handles. Only the front of the frame needs to cross the end lines. Sliding of the frame during the run will result in a 5 second (if athlete finishes) or 1 foot (if athlete doesn't finish) penalty, sliding of the frame across the end or finish line will result in a 10 second penalty. If an athlete does not finish the course, distance will be measured
Equipment allowed: wrist wraps, one pair of elbow sleeves, one pair of knee sleeves, chalk ,liquid chalk, up to 2 belts (1 hard, 1 soft)
Equipment not allowed: multiple sleeves per joint, elbow or knee wraps, tacky or tacky towels, straps, hooks, any kind of grip aid other than chalk
Car Deadift:
Athlete will have 60 seconds to get as many reps as possible. Athlete will start in the frame, not touching the handles. There will be both up and down commands, no bouncing or touch and go reps. If athlete has not gotten the down command for a rep when time expires, that rep will not count.
Equipment allowed: wrist wraps, one pair of elbow sleeves, one pair of knee sleeves, chalk ,liquid chalk, up to 2 belts (1 hard, 1 soft), straps (figure 6 or 8)
Equipment not allowed: multiple sleeves per joint, elbow or knee wraps, tacky or tacky towels, deadlift suits or briefs
Sandbag Toss:
Athletes have 60 seconds to throw their sandbag over the bar as many times as possible. Athletes will start with 1 hand touching an upright, with the bag behind a line 10 feet away. Split times will be taken from when a successful toss HITS THE GROUND, which means if your last throw is still in the air when time runs out, it will not count. Athletes will retrieve their own bags, wherever they land. You do not have to keep throwing from the same side of the uprights until you make a throw.
Equipment allowed: wrist wraps, one pair of elbow sleeves, one pair of knee sleeves, chalk ,liquid chalk, up to 2 belts (1 hard, 1 soft)
Equipment not allowed: multiple sleeves per joint, elbow or knee wraps, tacky or tacky towels
Hercules Hold:
This one should be a lot of fun. Still testing exact setup, but right now we're looking at everyone using 2 1929 Model A's with the angle of the ramps changing to increase difficulty. Athletes will take their grip, the weight will be eased into their hands, then time will start. Time will end when either hand releases from the handles. As of now the handle grips will be rolling, not fixed, if that changes I will update this page. NO HOOK GRIP
Equipment allowed: wrist wraps, one pair of elbow sleeves, one pair of knee sleeves, chalk ,liquid chalk, up to 2 belts (1 hard, 1 soft)
Equipment not allowed: multiple sleeves per joint, elbow or knee wraps, tacky or tacky towels
Every contestant will receive one bag of the best cheese curds ever made from Westby Creamery, and an individual sized pie.
