THIS IS A STRONGMAN CORP NATIONALS QUALIFYING EVENT!
If there are 2-4 athletes a class, 1st place gets an invite to Nationals.
If there are 5-9 athletes in a class, 1st and 2nd place gets an invite to Nationals.
If there are 10+ athletes in a class, 1st through 3rd place get an invite to Nationals.

Weigh-ins are on may 2nd at Grizzly Strength, and may 3rd prior to 8:30am.
Event 1: Max Deadlift:
Athletes will have 3 attempts to establish a 1 rep max on a 13 foot long stiff deadlift bar.
- 3 attempts
- Stiff bar
- Minimum 10lb weight jumps
- Rising Bar
- Standard height pull
- If an athlete misses a lift they are out
- Athlete must wait for a down command from their judge
- Athlete has 30 seconds to complete their lift
Equipment allowed: Straps, figure 8 straps, belts, briefs, Knee/Elbow Sleeves, chalk.
Not allowed: Deadlift suits, Sumo, deadlift hooks, sticky substances/tacky
Event 2: Log Ladder:
Athletes will have 75 seconds to finish a 5 log ladder. Women will have 2x8" logs, 2x10" logs, and finish with a 12" log. Men will have 2x10" logs and 3x12" logs.
- Time splits and completed logs will be taken into consideration for scoring
- Time isn't stopped until the log is securely placed on the pad it was picked up from
- If a log isn't securely placed on the pad it is the athletes responsibility to place it there before moving on
- Athletes must wait for a down command from the judge before setting the log down
- Athletes will start with their hands off the log
- Athletes will not drop the log from over head
- The log must be guided to the pad
Equipment allowed: Grip shirt, Wrist Wraps, Knee/elbow Sleeves, Chalk, Belt(soft and hard)
Not allowed: Sticky substances or tacky
Event 3: Wheelbarrow Into Arm Over Arm Pull:
Athletes will have 75 seconds to carry a wheelbarrow 60' and transition into an arm over arm pull.
- Athletes will start with their hands off the wheelbarrow
- The front of the wheelbarrow must pass the line before transitioning
- The wheelbarrow will be plate loaded
- The arm over arm pull will be a thick rope attached to a sled
- The Wheelbarrow will be moderate weight compared to your class
- The arm over arm pull will be heavy relative to your class
- Distance and time splits will be taken into consideration for scoring
Equipment allowed: Gloves, Grip shirt, Knee wraps, Wrist Wraps, Knee/elbow Sleeves, briefs, Chalk, Belt(soft and hard)
Not allowed: Sticky substances or tacky, deadlift straps/grip assistance tools
Event 4: Yoke Walk:
Athletes will have 60 seconds to complete a 20' yoke walk.
- Athletes will start under the yoke
- If the athlete is able to "lock out" or stand up straight with yoke, but not take a step they will NOT "zero"
- The yoke will be very heavy relative to class
- The front of the yoke must pass the finish line before time is stopped
- Unlimited drops allowed
- If the judge deems injury risk too high he may end the event before 60 seconds

Not allowed: Sticky substances or tacky
Event 5: Sandbag Toss:
Athletes will have 60 seconds to complete a 5 bag series. Men will throw over a 16' bar and women will throw over a 12' bar.
- Athletes will start away from the bag
- Bags will get progressively heavier though out the series
- Athletes time will be taken when the bag lands after a successful throw
- If a bag lands on top of the throwing setup and doesn't fall off before the end of their time it is considered a successful throw
- Time splits will be taken into consideration for scoring
- This event will take place outside
Equipment allowed: Gloves, Grip shirt, Knee wraps, Wrist Wraps, Knee/elbow Sleeves, briefs, Chalk, Belt(soft and hard)
Not allowed: Sticky substances or tacky
Event 6: Sandbag Load:
Athletes will have 75 seconds to complete 6 bag loading series.
- Athletes will start away from the bag
- Athletes must load the bag over the bar before moving on to the next bag
- Time splits will be taken when the bag hits the ground
- Sand bags will start light and get progressively heavier throughout the series
- Completed bags and time will be considered for scoring
Equipment allowed: Gloves, Grip shirt, Knee wraps, Wrist Wraps, Knee/elbow Sleeves, briefs, Chalk, Belt(soft and hard)
Not allowed: Sticky substances or tacky, any grip assistance tools
Event 7: Tie Breaker:
If any athletes tie for 1st place or a nationals invite they will go head to head in a "sandbag off". Using the 5th bag from the sandbag series in their weight class each athlete will have 20 seconds to pass the sandbag over the bar to the other person. The tie breaker will end when one athlete is unable to return the bag. The athlete that scored more points in the previous event has the choice of going first or second. This will be similar style to WSM stone off.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd will receive trophies.
Top men's and women's deadlifter will receive a unique trophy as well.
All weights and events are subject to change. All athletes will be notified immediately if any changes are made.
This event is ran by local strongman gym owners and competitors with the goal of providing the best athlete and spectator experience. Food vendors and limited seating will be provided. There will be plenty of space for your own chairs as well inside of the venue.
