This year we are bringing you a bigger and better show!
Find out who really is Utah's Strongest by 6 events testing how well rounded your strength is, over two days of competing.
Must have a current USS MEMBERSHIP! Check or update HERE.
Rules, weights and event order are subject to change.
Day #1: Friday August 1st
2 pm Day Of The Dead
Event #1 Yoke Into Frame Carry
Competitors will run (or walk, ‘cause heavy, lol) a yoke 50ft past the finish line. Then grab the frame and run it back 50ft. Both implements must completely cross their finish lines.
60 second time limit for this event.
Unlimited drops
3 second penalty for sliding at the judges discretion. (just don’t slide, and you’ll be fine!)
This event will have 2 lanes
Equipment allowed: 1 soft belt, 1 hard belt, knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, straps (yes, you can strap into the frame if you want to waste the time)
No Tacky
Event #2 Max Deadlift
Everyone knows the max deadlift rules but we're going to tell you anyways.
NO SUMO!!
We're doing rising bar, Wessel’s rules. Competitors will record their first attempt deadlift at weigh ins, and will go in order of weight. After a successful attempt you will wait close by for the next weight you want to be loaded on the bar. 3 attempts per athlete on the platform will be recorded. If you miss any attempt you are done and don't get any of the remaining attempts.
We will have warm up bars in the back, so no warming up on the comp platforms.
Two platforms for this event, Mens and Womens
Equipment allowed: 1 soft belt, 1 hard belt, knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, any kind of straps, briefs, chalk, liquid chalk
No Deadlift suits, No Tacky!
Day 2 August 2nd - 10 a.m. Utahs Strongest
Event #3 Pressing Ladder - Circus Dumbbell, Axle, Log
Athletes will start at the CDB. After a successful rep and down call from your judge, athlete will move to axle and then log. 60 seconds time limit. Split times.
No Tree top drops on any implement! This will result in a zero for the event! Control the descent as much as possible.
This will be 2 lanes
Equipment allowed: elbow sleeves, knee sleeves, 1 soft belt, 1 hard belt, grip shirt - straps, wraps
No strongman corp grip shirts
Again- NO TACKY
Event #4 Sandbag throw series
4 bags. Women will throw over a 12 ft bar and men over 14 ft bar. Each bag must clear to move to the next. No grabbing 2 bags at a time and moving them, and bags must be thrown in order of lightest to heaviest. There will be a spotter with a pole to push it back to you if it gets stuck. You’ll have to throw it again.
Split time when bag hits the ground.
Equipment Allowed: Belts, elbow sleeves, knee sleeves, chalk

Event #5 Carry Medley: Zercher yoke, sandbag, hussafel
All 3 implements will start on one side.
Competitors will start standing behind the yoke and carry it 50ft zercher style, run back, grab the sandbag drop it over the line, then run back to grab the hussafel and load it onto a box. Split time with a 60 second limit
Two lanes
Equipment Allowed: 1 soft belt, 1 hard belt, knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, wrist wraps and straps I guess.

Event #6 - 4 stone to podium series
This event will be heavier because we're doing a 4 stone run instead of 5.
Athletes will load 4 stones to podiums around a square (like Ragnarok 2025 but better), the first two stones will be lighter and loaded to a 48" podium and two stones heavier to 42" podium. Load in order or lightest to heaviest. Split time when hands are off. 60 second time limit
There will be a tacky clean up station. Cleaning tacky in any other area could result in a zero for this event.
Allowed: Finally - Tacky and tacky towels, belts, stone forearm sleeves, knee sleeves, grip shirts
No Strongman Corp grip shirts
Weigh ins:
All required athletes must be present for weigh ins either on Thursday 9am-1pm, or Thursday 6pm-8pm.
Athletes who are not required for weights, (Novice classes, SHW, or Masters) are still required to check in at least 30 minutes prior to the rules meeting on Friday, which will be at 2:30pm for yoke heights, and first attempt deadlift.
Showtime:
We will begin the show promptly at 3:00pm on Friday, and 10:00am on Saturday.
Athletes will get free entry to Fitcon both days, but all spectators, coaches, handlers, etc. will need to buy passes to get into Fitcon. Those can be purchased at the door or HERE.
